    Tom Szabo heute:

I wanted to mention a company I haven't talked about in a while, Mines Management, which hit a low of $3.90 today on account of fear, uncertainty and doubt. This stock traded as high as $10 back when silver was around $6 and copper was $1.50. They still have the same deposit -- Montanore -- and have been (very slowly, which has resulted in many shareholders throwing in the towel) advancing it toward development. The project faces some significant environmental hurdles and is several years away from production :(, but you can't get metal in the ground for much cheaper than Mines Management :). I am going to examine this stock in the next few days since I haven't looked at it in a while but assuming I like what I see, I plan to buy a few shares for the long-term portion of my portfolio.

    Siehste Tschonko,

Was immer das heißen mag.

A propos SNN.TO: Weisst du da was?

Total cash costs per ounce of gold :
    596 USD - Ocampo, 1st quarter 2007 (Quarterly financial review 1/2007) :(
    508 USD - El Cubo, 1st quarter 2007 (Quarterly financial review 1/2007)
    575 USD - 1st quarter 2007 (Quarterly financial review 1/2007)
    318 USD - 4th quarter 2006 (Quarterly financial review 1/2007)
negative 204 USD -i f silver production is calculated as a by-product (Gammon Lake Presentation) ?(

Jede Menge Zahlen. Für jeden was dabei :D

Schlimmer geht's nimmer! :D

Watson empfieht SIL zum Traden: 'The reason seems to be that Apex is always a latecomer to the silver bull party. That is because less favored stocks tend to get in late but can enjoy sudden surges in that brief span before silver corrects again. The essential thing is to get out before that silver correction occurs.'

    Hallo Edel Man

- Zitat:...I am usually more interested in why particular trading signals work rather than just trading blindly...

Artikel von Gene Arensberg: Gold Pop Defies Gravity, Indicators Demand Caution

Zitat:...Can gold metal continue to rise without the enthusiastic support of mining shares? It sure can and it has in the past, but the odds of gold making a meaningful advance improve greatly when supported by the obvious confidence of expanding liquidity in mining shares. Paradoxically, this time of year it just might take a gold breakout north of the $690s or some exogenous geopolitical event to reawaken that investor confidence.
It may just be the time of year when liquidity in mining shares is prone to contract and traders tend to be relatively less bullish, but for whatever reason the HUI is acting like gold has already sold off to the $630s or so and advances in the metal are not answered with enthusiasm. That’s short-term worrisome, but not likely to remain the case longer term in this report’s opinion.
A confirmed failed breakout for the HUI has now been followed by a 200-dma hold, so as of this writing this indicator, while still technically bullish, moves from bearish to neutral on the gold market indicator ledger short term. 8)

    Artikel von John Ing

Etwa in der Mitte schreibt er: $1,000 Gold Is A Certainty ...we expect gold to retest the January 1980 high at $850 an ounce this year, with a new target at $1,000 an ounce. While $1000 may appear overly optimistic, it is important to remember that gold rose nearly 3,000 percent from 1971 to 1980 and is only up 166 percent from its low in 1999. =)

None of these companies are making money mining. None of these companies are even close to mining anything, except Klondike. First, exploration companies have to locate drill targets, which may take up to a year or more. Then, they have to do a small first round of drilling, which also may take up to a year or more. If they are blessed, they may end up doing further rounds of "resource" drilling to prove up a resource which may take up to a year or more. Then, they may conduct a pre-feasibility study which may take up to a year or more. Then, they may have to secure a mining permit which may take up to a year or more, and do environmental impact studies which may take up to a year or more. Then, they have to do a final feasibility study which may take up to a year or more. Then, they have to raise the money to construct a mine which may take up to a year or more. Then, they have to spend that money to build a mine which may take up to a year or more. Then, they have to hire all the people to run the mine which may take up to a year or more, assuming that their project is good enough to attract top people away from other less exciting projects. And if they are very fortunate, after 5-15 years, hopefully when silver prices are higher, they may show a profit from mining silver, or gold, or maybe something else that they may find, such as zinc or molybdenum. But in this environment of low silver prices; hardly anyone makes money mining silver today, which is why these companies are so cheap, and are being mostly cautious about not spending too much money too quickly. 8)
