Today's announced broad zones of semi to massive sulphides is the most important news to date on San Diego and has huge upside potential for this property. This confirms the original model development from a few years ago and is only the beginning. The trend associated with Penoles Santa Maria mine which has lots of historical and current data right through to Santa Juana and Chicago and on to San Diego is very strong and potentially huge for ECU as the company continues it's exploration program. The most interesting developments and discoveries are very likely still ahead of the company and none of this present work is in the resource extimates as of yet.

The source of the over 30 close to surface high grade veins at ECU Velardena property has long been postulated to be a massive sulphide feeder system at depth and ECU has some evidence of it's existance below the Mineralized Corridor level 15-18 discovery in Santa Jauna which has been the focus of the companies exploration for quite some time along with high grade vein systems. The San Diego discovery adds further evidence to that which already exists below Santa Juana and in the closeby Santa Maria mine. I look forward to the day that ECU hits massive sulphides deep below Santa Juana for it could be a monster compared to San Diego given the far greater surface and vein expression at the various Velardena mines.

We could be entering a whole new era of exploration at Velardena, that's the possibility, and this would be over and above the resource outlined to date. I might add that the above theory has evidence from some prior holes down to level 26, lots of information from nearby Santa Maria to provide comparative data and help guide the exploration and now strong evidence from San Diego. The long term exploration objective has always been to find the source of Velardena high grade veins and it's always been expected it lies deep and below Santa Juana and will be massive sulphides. The company has spent months drifting and preparing new drill galeries off level 18 to go drilling deep while continuing the exploration program reported on routinely. They have also continued the ramping program which is required for long term large bulk mining plans and for that matter increasing access to high grade veins for narrow vein mining.

As busy as it's been the last 2 years it's going to get more busy as Velardena continues to give up it's jewels. As much success as ECU has had, the best could be yet to come.

    Nicht uninteressant...
Tara Minerals Corp. on Track for Production Start-Up From Don Ramon

    @Silbernugget

Wheaton joins Fray as by-product gold player
    Proven Business Model
Peter Koven, Financial Post Published: Saturday, June 14, 2008

The chief executive of Gold Wheaton Corp. wasted no time in getting his message out yesterday.

"Friends, Romans, countrymen, give us your by-product gold!" an exuberant David Cohen said on his first conference call with investors, a day after the company was unveiled.

While Gold Wheaton is a new company, there is nothing new about the idea. It is a replica of Silver Wheaton Corp., a proven business model created by the same group of people.

Gold Wheaton is a "stream" company that will purchase by-product gold from producing base-metal mines. That gives investors exposure to gold without any of the huge operating risks facing mining companies.

Mr. Cohen explained the idea for Gold Wheaton was kicked around ever since the successful launch of Silver Wheaton in 2004 by deal-makers Ian Telfer and Frank Giustra.

The talks got serious late last year, when Paradigm Capital proposed an initial gold stream acquisition for Gold Wheaton involving junior company Redcorp Ventures Ltd.

Mr. Cohen was then asked to lead the company. He was available because his prior company, Northern Orion Resources Inc., was sold to Yamana Gold Inc. last year.

The team was almost ready to launch, but they needed a project with great cash flow to get the whole venture off the ground smoothly and making money.

That is where FNX Mining Co. Inc. came in. FNX has massive gold, platinum and palladium reserves in the Sudbury Basin, but they were not recognized in the share price and the

company wanted to do something with them. FNX also needed money for its capital plans, but the timing was all wrong to go to the markets.

"We feel our share price should be much higher, and we just weren't willing to go out and do a financing and sell our shares at this price," Terry MacGibbon, executive chairman, said in an interview.

He met with Mr. Telfer and Mr. Cohen, and they worked out a deal that was ideal for both sides. Gold Wheaton gets 50% of FNX's precious-metals production from certain mines, and FNX gets an immediate cash infusion without diluting shareholders, plus a valuable 43% stake in Gold Wheaton.

"FNX is a dream transaction for us. It's probably bigger than the one you want to do first, but if it's out there, who are we to say no?" Mr. Cohen said.

He maintained he is "stunned" by the possibilities of Gold Wheaton, and is confident he can build the company quickly through future by-product deals. His e-mail box is already filling up with mining companies looking to do something with their by-product gold production.

"Every guy who produces gold as a by-product is a potential counter-party for us. Every single one. You look at it, and you just can't build businesses this quickly. It's incredible," he said in an interview.

He said the biggest challenge for Gold Wheaton will be identifying the mining companies that can actually deliver on their plans.

"The issue will be making sure we get the right information," he said.

He said he also plans to share information and ideas with Silver Wheaton so both companies can find new opportunities.

Aber was kommt danach?

Was kostet das eigentlich?

This news is significant because it represents an entirely new mineralized system at Guanacevi. Until now, all of the ore that was processed came from low sulphidation silver-gold veins. This new zone is a sulphide ore body, and there are substantial zinc-lead credits along with the silver. As mentioned in the news release, the deposit area is being developed and will be in production within a year. A new floatation cell circuit has been installed at the mill to run this ore. So we have additional growth built in, and greater flexibility in the metals production now so that EDR will have leverage to other payable metals.

    News

"They also mark the first significant occurrence of potentially economic base metals at Santa Cruz, accompanied by lower precious metal grades typical of the deeper parts of the classic, low sulpidation epithermal vein systems found in Mexico. Discovery of the base metal zone is timely due to the fact they can be added to a new resource estimate to be prepared later this year and they can be recovered in the Guanacevi plant flotation circuit, which is scheduled to be re-commissioned in Q3 and expanded in Q4, 2008.

Santa Cruz was a historic silver mine discovered by the Spanish in the late 1500's and mined again by Industrias Penoles in the 1900's. Penoles sank an inclined 270 m deep shaft and developed the mine down 13 levels. Endeavour commenced exploration drilling below the deepest mine level 13 in 2005 in order to search for extensions of the Santa Cruz mineralization. "

    cheers!

Zitat: Looking at the MI&I Ag equivalent ounces, it can be found that between the companies' 1st and 2nd NI43-101’s that the amount increased by 6.32 million ounces per month, and between the 2nd and latest NI43-101’s the amount increased by 6.29 million ounces per month. This shows that the company is consistently adding over 75 million ounces of Ag equiv per year.

Abwarten? Aufstocken? Oder hinschmeißen? Irgendwie unübersichtlich... 8)
