    "The ANC will do everything possible to ensure that the confidence of the people translates into a meaningful and lasting improvement in the living conditions of all, especially the poor," the party said in a statement on Saturday. :D

    So after a quarter of a century, silver finally returned to double-digits. While we aren’t fans of following day-to-day moves, the recent zoom past the $10/oz mark is noteworthy. It seems that the precious metals community is anticipating the launch of the silver ETF – so perhaps this is what is causing the grey dog to bark. Maybe that’s the case, but we certainly don’t think that abnormal amounts bullion are being gobbled up by Barclays in anticipation of the ETF’s launch. Nor do we think that the public is suddenly hoarding silver.


    What is interesting to us is that the mainstream media and average investor have no idea what is going on. CNBC has a ticker in the morning that includes some commodity prices, but silver remains absent. Web sites such as MSN and Yahoo spit out headlines about Google, retail sales, and oil – it is only on rare occasion that gold is mentioned and that is when the price breaks $400/oz or $500/oz. Even the commodities sections of major financial web sites seem to ignore silver. For example, we can find nothing about the recent strike at Penoles, the second largest mining company in Mexico. Compare this to a hypothetical strike at Exxon, which would make top headlines.


    A little more than twenty six years ago, when the silver market was being cornered, the general public started to wake up. At the very top, there were news stories about average people taking their silverware in to be melted. While we are not anticipating a repeat of early 1980, it is logical to think that the bull market will not end until we see the public paying attention to what is going on.


    The combination of miner unrest in Mexico, increasingly radical leaders being elected in Latin America, and the silver ETF is adding more fuel to the already bullish fire of silver supply/demand. As with any asset that has had a huge run in a short period of time, a meaningful correction could occur at any moment to shake out the weak hands and momentum players, but we think that continued annual supply deficits of silver will not go unnoticed by the mainstream investing public for long. Oh, and we haven’t even mentioned the ticking time bomb that is the U.S. Dollar and how its looming decline will almost certainly add a great deal of investment demand to gold and silver at a time when silver supply and inventories are very limited.

    Hallo


    Ihr habt in vielen Dingen recht, wo und wann ist nun die grosse Hausse ?
    Egal wo, ich habe 2.1% vom jetzigen Depotwert in 30 Solar/Alternativenergie Aktien gesteckt und hoffe darauf scheint auch die Sonne.

    Die im Technologieindex TecDAX gelistete SolarWorld AG AG deckt in dem Bereich der solaren Stromerzeugung vom Rohstoff Silizium bis zur einsatzbereiten Solaranlage die gesamte Wertschöpfungskette der Solarwirtschaft ab. Dabei zeigt das Unternehmen beachtliche Zuwachsraten. So konnten die Bonner bei der Vorlage der vorläufigen Zahlen für das Geschäftsjahr 2005 die Analystenprognosen erneut deutlich übertreffen. Demnach konnte der Konzern die Umsatzerlöse um über 75 Prozent auf 355 Mio. Euro steigern. Das EBIT legte gar um 170 Prozent auf 88 Mio. Euro zu. Die Umsatzrendite konnte hierbei auf 15 Prozent nach 9 Prozent im Vorjahr erhöht werden.


    Auch für dieses Jahr wird mit einem deutlichen Wachstum gerechnet. Mit dazu beitragen könnte die jüngst bekannt gegebene Übernahme der polykristallinen Aktivitäten von Shell Solar. Hierdurch steigt SolarWorld AG mit einem Marktanteil von 60 Prozent zum größten Photovoltaik-Produzenten in den USA auf. Weltweit rangiert man nun an dritter Stelle. Angesichts der durch den Bundesstaat Kalifornien erst vor kurzem beschlossenen Förderprogramme, die möglicherweise Nachahmung auch in anderen Staaten finden werden, könnte sich hieraus nicht unerhebliches Wachstumspotenzial für die weitere Unternehmenszukunft ergeben. Durch die Akquisition könnte der Umsatz im laufenden Geschäftsjahr statt bislang erwarteter rund 20 Prozent um nunmehr 40 Prozent zulegen. In Anbetracht dieses Wachstumspotenzials in einem sehr dynamisch wachsenden Geschäftsfeld erscheint das Konsens-KGV für 2007 von derzeit 36 vielleicht lediglich auf den ersten Blick sehr ambitioniert.

    Auch 50% von Holy Moly :D AUA.V..(+245%).. maybe to early ?? ...Cést la vie !... die wird aber gepusht IMO
    Alles auf eine menge CEF gelegt und gesichert selbst bei den PoG und PoS z.Zt.
    Ich gehe auf nummer sicher,ich brauche keinen Stress im Urlaub.
    Der Depotwert steht auf 51% plus, passt scho !
    Nun auch cash mit 4% fuer Schnaeppchenjagd spaeter, now I can relax. :] Einen Puffer bis HUI 240 geschaffen.
    Memla und Shoshone flogen auch raus, ich warte noch auf die Timberline die auch gekuendigt wird, aber mit einen 80% Gewinn der die Nieten ausgleicht die nun alle zum grossteil raus sind...aber wie oft ist es passiert das selbst Apollo aufwachte. :D

    Cape Town - Eskom will launch a campaign next week to convince South Africans to consume less electricity because the margin between peak demand and supply will be the smallest in decades this coming winter.


    Ich sehe es schon noch mehr dark nights in the city.
    Kaptstadt bei Kerzenlicht, das wird wieder romantisch.
    Hoffentlich stuerzt der Rand bald, mir waere es Recht als Ausgleich.

    Ich sehe das eben anders als du, schliesslich lebe ich hier seit 21 Jahren im Vergleich zu Dir als Besserwisser der meine Meinung belaechelt oder langweilt.

    Cops shoot 'invisible' man

    Johannesburg - A man wearing muti to make him invisible to police, was shot dead in Kempton Park, on the East Rand on Friday while trying to outrun police in a stolen bakkie.
    Police spokesperson Cynthia Kleinhans said the flying squad gave chase after being alerted by a tracking system that the bakkie had been stolen in Limpopo.


    "After a short chase, the suspect drove into an open veld, got out of the vehicle and pointed a gun at police officers," she said.


    The officers opened fire on the man, fatally shooting him in the neck and head.


    "Muti was found on his body," Kleinhans said.


    Hijackers and robbers often used muti because they believed it made them invisible to the police, :D she said, hoping they would learn it would not work in that area.

    The ANC has polled over 70.3% in the local government election in the latest results provided by the Independent Electoral Commission.


    The official opposition :D, Democratic Alliance (DA) polled 13.6% - only slightly more than it garnered in the national election in 2004 - with the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) in third place with 4.2%.


    Ja da kommt Stimmung auf Kuddel, oder ist das auch langweilig ;(


    In 5 Jahren kann man wieder hoffen und waehlen, super !

    Mal schaun ob die DA einen liefern kann, du redest leicht als ""RSA Experte"" der Stromausfaelle in der Art noch nie miterlebt hat und bequem vorm Fernseher oder PC sitzt bei augedrehter Heizung zu Hause in D.
    Ich wuerde dir gerne mal den Strom abdrehen damit du weisst ob das langweilig ist oder nicht.
    Die knappe Mehrheit der DA, obwohl ein Lichtblick, aendert auch nicht viel an der gesamten Lage in RSA.IMO
    Du kannst jetzt beruhig wieder hier deine liberalen Kommentare schreiben und den Lesern vormachen das Schwarze eigentlich weiss sind und die Sache ganz anders siehst als die Menschen hier.
    Mir ist das nun auch Wurst, ich bin naemlich im Urlaub wo es Strom gibt. :D
    Viel Spass mit deinen RSA Aktien, die DA wird den Kurs jetzt stimmungsvoll steigern und uns hoffentlich Strom wieder laenger als 4 Stunden liefern.

    Hijacker caught in tree :D

    Johannesburg - Ekurhuleni metro police on Thursday apprehended an alleged hijacker who had climbed a tree in a bid to escape arrest.
    Spokesperson Inspector Jimmy Maboko said on Friday that a female metro police officer had spotted an attempted car hijacking in progress in Birchleigh North where she had been on patrol.


    "She shouted 'hey' and the two men threw their pistol into the car they tried to hijack and ran away."


    She called for backup and later one of the men was discovered hiding up a tree, Maboko said.


    The man was arrested and would appear in court on Monday.
