    Like gold itself, the degree of caution and outright pessimism in mining related shares
    given where their underlying metal prices are now compared to where they were a few
    years ago, suggests to me that we aren’t close to any long term top. The American
    investing public is still virtually out of these types of equities. You can see this at the
    American-based gold shows. Attendance is very low compared to shows in Canada and
    the age of the average attended is quite old – suggesting they are leftovers from the
    1980 craze     and not new, young blood. ;)

    Trade in gold jumps in China 14/1/2007 12:02


    Chinese investors traded enthusiastically in gold last year, according to the latest figures from the Shanghai Gold Exchange.


    Information from the exchange shows that in 2006 turnover in the precious metal reached 194.75 billion yuan (25 billion U.S. dollars), up 82 percent over 2005.


    A total of 1,250 tons of gold were traded, up 38 percent year on year.


    Higher gold prices have boosted trading volumes.


    Against a background of increasing international prices, domestic gold price rose from 130 yuan per gram at the beginning of 2006 to over 150 yuan per gram currently. In the middle of the year, prices peaked at 200 yuan per gram.


    Since the Shanghai Gold Exchange started operation in Oct. 2002,gold trading has become one of the preferred investment options of Chinese citizens together with foreign exchange, stocks and futures.

    .....According to Treva Klingbiel, editor of TradeTech’s Nuclear Market Review, which first publishes the weekly spot uranium price on Friday, “Speculators are holding about 24 million pounds of U3O8 equivalent.” This amounts to about eight times the current U.S. uranium production, more than double the Kazakh 2006 production – some 22 percent of global uranium production in 2005. The speculator’s hoard easily outnumbers the U.S. Department of Energy’s announcement of 5+ million pounds of annual sales.

    ...und aus "Voraussagungen für 2007" seine Schlussfolgerungen: Gold und Silber sind beide im letzten Stadium ihrer Langzeit-Zyklen. Deshalb haben wir entweder den Langzeit-Gipfel bereits 2006 erlebt, oder aber er ist bis 2008 fällig. Danach folgt in jedem Fall ein deutlicher Absturz in ein Tief zwischen 2009 und 2011. Solange Gold über 683 gehandelt wird, verbleibt eine Möglichkeit, dass es bis Juli erneut auf 480 bis 560 fällt - das Tal im 34-Monats-Zyklus! Gold kann unter die Tiefwerte zwischen Juni und Oktober 2006 fallen. Silber fällt wahrscheinlich nicht unter die Tiefwerte zwischen 960 und 1055, die zur selben Zeit erreicht wurden. Nach einem Tief zwischen März und Juli 2007 können sich beide Metalle erholen und innerhalb des nächsten Jahres bis zu ihren Spitzenwerten von 2006 oder noch darüber hinaus vorstossen.

    THUNDER BAY, ON--(MARKET WIRE)--Dec 15, 2006 -- SABINA SILVER CORPORATION (TSX VENTURE:SBB.V - News) ("Sabina") is pleased to announce a non-brokered private placement financing whereby Silver Wheaton Corp. ("Silver Wheaton"), a publicly traded company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange and New York Stock Exchange, has agreed to purchase up to 7,800,000 Units (the "Units") of the Company at a price of C$1.65 per Unit, for gross proceeds of up to $12,870,000. Each Unit consists of one (1) common share and one-half (1/2) of a non-transferable share purchase warrant.
