    Gunmen open fire on car outside Dbn school

    Durban


    A couple was critically injured outside a primary school in Durban on Tuesday morning after gunmen opened fire.
    A white BMW parked near Hillary Primary School was riddled with 24 bullet holes and the couple seated inside the car were wounded.
    Donovan Pillay, 26, was seated in the car with his cousin's wife, whom he?d been taking to work at the time.
    Pillay sustained five gunshot wounds and the woman was reportedly shot in the arm.
    Netcare 911 spokesperson Chris Botha said the two were critically injured.
    Pillay was airlifted from the school grounds to Albert Luthuli hospital while the woman was taken to Chatsmed Garden hospital.
    It is unclear at this stage if anyone else was injured or whether the gunmen were arrested.
    Police at the scene said R5 rifles and 9mm pistols were used and several shell cases were found at the scene.
    Police spokesperson Superintendent Daniela Veldhuizen said details would be released shortly.

    Informanten, der dem Bundesnachrichtendienst Bankdaten über mutmassliche
    Steuerbetrüger aus Deutschland verkauft hat. Wie der Leitende Staatsanwalt
    Robert Wallner sagte, habe er ein Ermittlungsverfahren "gegen unbekannte Täter
    wegen der Verletzung eines Betriebsgeheimnisses zugunsten des Auslands"
    eingeleitet, berichtet die "Berliner Zeitung" (Dienstagausgabe). Wallner wollte
    nicht ausschliessen, dass sich die Ermittlungen später auch gegen deutsche
    Beteiligte richten könnten. "Ich finde es zumindest befremdlich, dass deutsche
    Behörden Geld an einen Verbrecher zahlen, um die von ihm gestohlene Ware in
    ihren Besitz zu bringen", sagte Wallner in Vaduz. Wenn man herausgefunden habe,
    wer die Daten entwendet hat, werde man über eine eventuelle Strafbarkeit

    "As soon as I'm mobile again, I'm leaving this country," says Razelle Botha of Moreleta Park in Pretoria.
    The star matric pupil was speaking on Monday shortly before she was discharged from Pretoria East Hospital.
    She was shot five times a fortnight ago during an armed robbery at her home in Norval Street.
    On Monday afternoon, Razelle was transferred to MuelMed-MediClinic, where she will receive intensive occupational therapy.
    Meanwhile, her mother, Cobie Botha, sent a letter about the crime situation to President Thabo Mbeki.
    According to the daily newspaper, The Times, she wrote: "Mr President, I am not moaning, sir, I am crying for help!
    "How do I tell my child she will never be able to walk again when she pleads with me to tell her differently?"
    Has feeling in her legs
    Razelle said on Monday: "We have a fantastic country and the people have been very good to me, but I think I should go, for my own safety.
    Razelle, who got eight distinctions in last year's exam, said about her upcoming therapy: "Right now, I just feel positive."
    She said her friends, family and the nurses had been amazing.
    "I can feel in my whole left leg and I can move the muscles in my right leg."
    Razelle said that after her narrow escape she was even more determined to become a doctor.
    She's planning to go to Canada to study medicine.
    Her father Professor Willem Botha, who was with her in the house during the robbery, was shot in the groin.
    He's recuperating at home at present.
    Police, meanwhile, have found a firearm in the Moreletta Spruit, which they link to the robbery and shooting at the Bothas.
    Captain Colette Weilbach said it had been sent to the police forensic laboratory to see if it could be linked to crimes in and around Pretoria, including Razelle's shooting.
    Police also have seized a hat that a suspect had left behind at the Botha home. Weilbach said they were still awaiting tests on fingerprints lifted at the Bothas' home
    Meanwhile, the Johannesburg school where 12-year-old Emily Williams was a pupil, have announced that they're planning a silent protest against crime on Thursday.
    Emily was shot dead in Fairlands, Johannesburg, last week by robbers that her mother had stumbled on while she was collecting a friend at her house.
    The march by Trinity House Preparatory School in Rand Park Ridge is also to show appreciation to the police.
    Speaking at a memorial at the school on Monday, headmaster Dr Herbie Staples said: "What we must learn from Emily's death is that we should take a stand against crime and the lack of justice in our land.
    School staging silent protest
    "It's time for us to tell the government we're sick and tired of seeing how innocents become the victims of crime.
    "It's not acceptable that children and the elderly, the most-vulnerable members of our society, are robbed, raped and murdered.?
    The protest march leaves from the Eastwood Street gate of Trinity House at 10:00 on Thursday. In Beyers Naude Drive it will move up to Dale Lace Avenue.
    It will be a silent march, in honour of Emily and other victims of crime.

    Killer 'must enjoy family life'

    Pretoria - A High Court judge ruled on Monday that a murderer and robber did not deserve life imprisonment because of his disadvantaged background and poor schooling. :D


    Acting Judge Legodi Phatudi sentenced 35-year-old Jeffrey Mogatla of Mamelodi East to 40 years' imprisonment, of which he effectively has to serve about 9 years.
    He was found guilty of the December 2000 murder and robbery of Mariana Bothma, at the time the director of the old Technikon Pretoria.


    Bothma was shot dead in the driveway of her Lynnwood home, shortly after the flying squad arrived at the house to investigate a robbery in progress and a shootout ensued.
    Phatudi emphasised the seriousness of types of crimes, which became more prevalent every week.
    However, he said Mogatla's age, the fact that he had children and four mouths to feed, came from a disadvantaged background, never went to high school and was unskilled constituted mitigating circumstances.


    The judge said Mogatla could be rehabilitated in jail and one day enjoy a life with his family.:D
    He found that Mogatla had been part of a gang of three men who broke into the home of Bothma and her friend, Anneline Stroebel, held both women at gunpoint and robbed them of a handbag, jewellery and a cellphone.


    The court accepted forensic evidence that the bullet which had entered Bothma's chin, killing her almost instantly, had been fired by one of the robbers and not by the police, as suggested by defence counsel.
    The robbers also had fired shots inside the house.
    Mogatla was arrested at the end of 2006 on the strength of fingerprint evidence.

    Gestern auf National Geographic, wenn die Temperaturen um 2-3 Grad steigen innerhalb von 20-50 Jahren kommt die Rache der Erde mit Unwettern ala Katrina und Tsunamis/Hitzewelle/Flut und Pole schmelzen dahin obwohl einige nun mehr als genug Schnee haben wie im Silbervalle oder China z.Zt.
    Der Regenwald im Amazonas ist futsch, Duerre ueberall und Hurrican Staerke 6 sogar.
    Rockefellers Plan das 500 millionen Menschen vorher verschwinden muessen passt in das Thema rein.
    Vielleicht sind sie schon dabei, irgendwo fangen die an.
    Staedte wie Shanghai, Bangkok, etc. verschwinden im Wasser das 2.5 meter steigt.
    Was hilft einen dann Gold und Silber in der Zeit frage ich mich ?
    Ich hoffe ich sehe das Chaos nicht mehr, leider meine Kinder.


    Jetzt seid ihr total deprimiert, darum lebt waerend ihr koennt und lasst Euch nicht aergern.
    Man kriegt nur Krebs davon, wer hat schon Bock auf sowas.

    U.S. scientists have developed a microfiber fabric that generates its own electricity. A shirt made of this could harness power from its wearer simply walking around or even from a slight breeze, according to the journal Nature.


    And relevant to Resource Investor readers, the nanogenerator takes advantage of the semiconductive properties of zinc oxide nanowires embedded into the fabric. Also, one of the fibers in each pair is coated with gold and serves as an electrode.


    As the bristles brush together through a person's body movement, the wires convert the mechanical motion into electricity. The microfiber can create enough current to recharge a cell phone or ensure that a small MP3 music player never runs out of power.

    Das sind ja ansich kriminelle methoden spione gegen bezahlung in Liechteinischen Banken einzuschleusen.
    Dann noch Polizeischutz und anonymitaet gewaehren fuer diese Spione rundet die Sache ab.
    Das Bankensystem im Fuerstentum wurde schon mehrmals angegriffen von den Amis z.B. aber nichts kam dabei raus. IMO die Deutsche Regierung wird noch weniger anrichten in der Hinsicht.



    Vier Männer wegen LLB-Erpressung in U-Haft

    Im Erpressungsfall bei der Liechtensteinischen Landesbank LLB sind drei Männer in Untersuchungshaft genommen. Ein Zusammenhang mit den Ermittlungen in der Steueraffäre in Deutschland besteht jedoch nicht.
    Die Beschuldigten stünden im Verdacht, zusammen mit einem bereits zuvor inhaftierten 47-Jährigen die Bank um rund neun Millionen Euro erpresst zu haben, teilte die Staatsanwaltschaft Rostock am Samstag mit. Die vier seien im Besitz von mehr als 2000 Kontounterlagen gewesen, die zuvor der LLB abhandengekommen seien.
    Es bestehe kein Zusammenhang zu den bei der Staatsanwaltschaft Bochum geführten Ermittlungen im Zusammenhang mit Geldanlagen bei der LGT-Bank in Liechtenstein, hiess es. Daten zu Anlagen über die LGT sollen auf Steuerhinterziehung durch mehrere hundert Deutsche hinweisen. Die Ermittlungen waren durch die Razzia beim inzwischen zurückgetretenen Post-Chef Klaus Zumwinkel bekanntgeworden.
    Wie die Staatsanwaltschaft weiter berichtete, sollen die vier zunächst von einzelnen Bankkunden hohe Geldbeträge gefordert haben. Sie hätten gedroht, den Inhalt der Unterlagen an die Finanzbehörden weiterzuleiten.
    Die Kunden hätten jedoch nicht gezahlt, sondern sich an ihre Bank gewandt. Das Geldinstitut habe dann Kontakt zu den Erpressern aufgenommen. Nach Zahlung von 7,5 Mio. Franken im August 2005 und 4 Mio. Euro im August 2007 hätten diese 1600 Kontobelege zurückgegeben. Die Aushändigung der restlichen Kontobelege gegen Zahlung von weiteren 4 Millionen Euro sei für August 2009 vorgesehen gewesen.
    Die LLB ist eigenen Angaben zufolge seit 2003 Opfer von Erpressungen. Ein ehemaliger Mitarbeiter erpresste die Bank mit entwendeten internen Belegen, die deutsche Bankkunden betreffen. Er drohte mit Weitergabe dieser Belege.
    Aufgrund einer Strafanzeige der LLB wurde der Täter verhaftet und im April 2004 verurteilt. Sein Wissen soll er an den 47- jährigen mutmasslichen Haupttäter weitergeleitet haben, der die Erpressung dann fortgesetzt haben soll. Dieser mehrfach einschlägig vorbestrafte Mann war im September 2007 auf dem Hamburger Flughafen mit rund 450 000 Euro im Gepäck kurz vor dem Abflug nach Thailand :P festgenommen worden.

    - In der laufenden Steueraffäre haben die deutschen Behörden ihre Ermittlungen ausgeweitet. Am Montagmorgen kam es zu mehreren Razzien in den Grossräumen München und Frankfurt.
    Der zuständige Leitende Oberstaatsanwalt Christian Schmidt- Sommerfeld sagte am Montag, Mitarbeiter der federführenden Staatsanwaltschaft Bochum und der Steuerfahndung hätten ihn darüber unterrichtet, dass es Durchsuchungen im Grossraum München gebe. Details über die betroffenen Personen oder die Grössenordnung der Aktion könne er nicht nennen.
    Weitere Durchsuchungsaktionen sollen nach Informationen des «Handelsblatts» auch im Grossraum Frankfurt angelaufen sein. Dort würden Privatwohnungen und Geschäftsräume durchsucht, berichtete die Online-Ausgabe der Zeitung. Es soll sich um vermögende Personen handeln, aber nicht um in der Öffentlichkeit bekannte Namen, hiess es.
    In den vergangenen Tagen hatte es bereits Berichte gegeben, wonach eine Welle von Durchsuchungen in der Steueraffäre bevorstehe. Die «Süddeutsche Zeitung» hatte aus Ermittlerkreisen berichtet, die Fahnder wollten pro Tag 20 bis 25 Wohnungen und Büros durchsuchen.
    Wegen der Affäre hatte der Chef der Deutschen Post, Klaus Zumwinkel, seinen Rücktritt erklärt. Ihm wird Steuerhinterziehung in Millionenhöhe vorgeworfen. (sda)

    Good luck, wie gut das ich keinen Job mehr brauche und selbststaendig bin.
    Mein Problem ist nur die Sprache z.B. Suedamerika, aber das kann man auch schnell lernen.
    Mein Sohn hat noch 2-3 Jahre zum Abitur, ich will ihn nicht rausreissen und hoffe wir kommen ueber die Runden. Wenn es aber richtig brenzlig wird und auf den Strassen gekaempft wird haue ich vorher schon ab. Erstmal dieses Jahr was mieten in Mallorca falls es mich beeindruckt, einen Fluchtort zum Anfang.
    Keine Ahnung wie das Leben dort ist, die Landschaft sieht so aehnlich aus wie am Kap.
    Ich brauche ja nicht am Ballermann wohnen, gibt bestimmt was ruhiges weit weg vom Trubel.
