The Chinese ask: why fight shooting wars when you know that your antagonist is painting himself into a corner anyhow? They know that Uncle Sam will sooner or later start crying: "Uncle!" in agony. They have all the marbles. The marbles of saving. The marbles of producing. The marbles of silver. Maybe, one day, they will also have the marbles of gold. ;)

    Aber recht hast, wie kann man "stabil"definieren.
    Wo wir wieder bei geopolitischen risiko sind, ich denke auch der weiss schon was er macht.
    Komisch ist nur das datum von den Tanzania news ist nahe seinen one million dollar investment.
    Vielleicht ist das ein positives zeichen das nun alles besser wird in Tanzania fuer hn.
    Nicht alles ist verloren in Afrika, aber vieles ist schon weg....

    Mbeki assures 2010 World Cup



    afrol News, 8 February - South African President Thabo on Friday delivered the much anticipated state of nation address, apologising the nation for the troubles caused by the power crisis. He allayed fears that the power crisis would hamper his country's hosting of the World Cup in 2010.


    President assured his government’s resolve to address all its compelling challenges "in a relatively short period." :D


    "It is... necessary to take this opportunity to convey to the country the apologies of both the government and [state power utility] Eskom for the national emergency," he said thanking South Africans for their "resilience and forbearing":D


    "In essence, the significant rise in electricity demand of the last two years has outstripped the new capacity we have brought on stream."


    "We face an emergency but we can overcome the problems in a relatively short period," Mbeki said, adding that blackouts should be seen as a challenge to South Africa to become more energy efficient.


    Mbeki said the government was employing concrete steps to tackle the energy crisis. This includes focus on reducing consumer demand and investing in the longer-term in new generation capacity.


    "On the supply side, Eskom is working furiously to ensure the introduction of co-generation projects as a matter of urgency," he told Parliament.


    "We are taking steps to enhance Eskom's maintenance capacity. We have emergency task teams dealing with the challenge of coal quality and supply ... and we are working to fast-track the approval and construction of gas turbine projects."


    "I am aware of the fact that many in our society are troubled by a deep sense of unease about where our country will be tomorrow," Mbeki told parliament in Cape Town. These concerns include power crisis and high cost of living.


    "I have absolutely no doubt that we will honour our undertaking to FIFA and the world community of soccer players and lovers to create all the necessary conditions for the holding of the best ever FIFA Soccer World Cup tournament," he said.


    President Mbeki had received several calls from investors to remedy the looming blackouts, which took great toll on gold and platinum mining.


    He expressed the government's commitment to defeat poverty, provide universal access to water, sanitation and electricity by 2014. It will also boost implementation of programs geared towards combating HIV/AIDS. :D


    The new leader of the governing African National Congress, Jacob Zuma, has hailed Mbeki for delivering a speech full of positive indication.:D

    Judge 'sorry' about jokes

    Johannesburg - An application for the judge presiding over the Jeppestown trial to recuse himself was dismissed at the Johannesburg High Court on Tuesday.
    Judge Ratha Motkgoatleng said the application had no legal basis to suggest he would be biased when he had to decide on the merits of the case.
    He said a judge could only recuse himself if there was a reasonable legal basis made by a reasonable person suggesting that he had been biased.
    Eleven out of 13 accused in the Jeppestown murder trial filed an application on Friday for the judge's recusal on the basis of apprehension of bias.
    Motkgoatleng apologised for remarks he made last week during the trial, saying they were only intended as a joke.
    "If some people found my humour appalling, I apologise," he said.
    Last week when one of the accused was sick he jokingly said: "Who's going to be sick next week so that I can have a doctor on standby?"
    A second remark was when he was told the accused were not getting breakfast and lunch from the C-Max prison and he asked "why they were not dead".
    The 13 accused are in court for the deaths of 12 people including four policemen during a bloody shoot out in Jeppestown, Johannesburg after a supermarket robbery on the West Rand in June 2006.

    Die harte Wahrheit ist eben sobald der weisse rausgeschmissen wird gehts zurueck in die Steinzeit.
    Da kann die Welt zig Missionare und Geld schicken es aendert sich nicht viel.
    Klar gibt es Ausnahmen, leider viel zu wenig.
    Das kommt daher das die Mehrheit der schwarzen das wort morgen nicht kennen sondern nur heute und daher nichts planen koennen oder wollen aus Faulheit.
    Solange die schwarzen nicht militant sind und die regierung ihren sozialismus/kommunismus nicht anwendet gehts noch in einigen Laendern.
    Lass mal einen anderen ran in Tanzania, dann schaut schon anders aus. Die meisten begreifen das nicht wie die sind, woher sollen sie es schon wissen.
    Das am Rande bemerkt, ich habe meine Erfahrung gesammelt in 23 Jahren, warum soll es in Ghana anders sein wenn Politiker wie Zuma Mugabe oder Mbeki das Land eines Tages fuehren.
    Denkt an Harmony, Kebble's JCI,die Minen sind zu tief und zu teuer oben drauf.


    Ich habe noch GSS und SMF & RBI zb. neben der GFI die zum glueck noch im Ausland investiert ist.
    Sinclair, mit allen Respekt hat die Connection/Protection zum Presidenten in Tanzania, ohne schmieren geht nichts im korrupten Afrika.

    On Friday February 8, President Jakaya Kikwete dissolved the cabinet and appointed a new Prime Minister, Mr. Mizengo Kayanza Peter Pinda who was endorsed by 98 percent of votes in the parliament.......and so on !

    Eine million USD hat er reingesteckt, kann auch ein Fass ohne Boden werden, wer weiss ?
    Bin gespannt wie sich der Kurs verhaelt obwohl ich keine TRE halte.

    Value, ich dachte auch es geht irgendwie weiter, Fehlanzeige, das Land geht den Bach runter und das Problem ist groesser als man bekannt gibt. Alle meine RSA Investments, Minen etc. waren reine Verluste, man kann nicht erwarten das es besser wird unter dem schwarzen management das egal was es ist alles ruiniert.
    Es gibt Geruechte das der CEO Ian Cockerill das Handtuch schmeisst und abhaut.
    Der naechste ist dann ein Bimbo, kannst ausrechnen was rauskommt.


    Ein Fass ohne Boden, ich bin bei der naechsten Gelegenheit auch raus und stecke keinen Cent mehr in diesen Kontinent.


    Da schmeisst man sein Geld am besten aus dem Fenster raus, das geht wenigstens schneller.


    Schade drum.... :(

    IMO die Zinssenkung der EZB kommt erst wenn sie den Wechselkurs unter 1.49 $/Euro nicht halten koennen.
    Bis dort hin macht Mr. Tricky gar nichts, es waere nicht gut fuer den Euro und Export.
    Gelangweilt geht es weiter solange der POG und POS weiter gedrueckt wird.
    Ein gutes Zeichen ist das trotz der Nachricht der IWF Goldverkauefe der POG bis jetzt nicht abgesackt ist.
    Solange die Imperialisten/Zeonisten/Elite/Oil Junkies am Ruder sind wird gar nichts besser in der Welt.
    Nur wenige wie Hugo Chaves trauen sich den Mund aufmachen, die anderen kuschen vor den Amis.

  • Das neue Südafrika

    Ich traf gestern ein paar Leute die heimweh hatten nach RSA und seit drei Jahren in Europa leben.
    Die waren entaeuscht und depremiert was in der Zwischenzeit aus dem Land geworden ist und verabschieden sich nun fuer ewig, das war der letzte Besuch.
    Die fuhren fast 2500 km durchs Land und sagten man merkt es erst richtig am Land wie es abwaerts geht.Viele Strassen sind ruiniert auch dort bricht alles zusammen.
    Einmal als sie an einem Township vorbeifuhren bewarf man sie mit Steinen ohne Grund und beschaedigte den Leihwagen.
    Die schwarzen kochen ihre Schafskoepfe am Strassenrand und Dreck liegt ueberall.
    Die weissen Farmer haben nichts mehr zu sagen und viele werden bedroht und angepoebelt das sie abhauen sollen und ihre Farm abgeben. Die Polizei ist schwarz, denen kuemmert keine Beschwerde, sie sind nun Tontauben. Bald wird es auch hier nichts mehr zu essen geben wenn die Farmen verrotten wie in Zimbabwe.Viehdiebstahl ist gang und gebe, oft wird mt Absicht viel beschaedigt auf den Farmen.Viele wollen das Land verlassen aber ohne Geld und anderer Staatsbuegerschaft sind die meisten den Schwarzen ausgeliefert die sie mit neuer Apartheid (inoffiziell) nun ganz verdraengen wollen. Schade um das Land.... the road to Zimbabwe...... :(


    Alle Anti Apartheid Gegner sollten zwei Wochen Soweto Urlaub verpasst bekommen damit sie sehen was sie damit erreicht haben.
    Die Immobilienangebote sind am steigen, der Rand faellt, IMO bis auf Wetter und Landschaft keine Zukunft mit weisser Hautfarbe.Ich hoffe ich finde was schoenes zu mieten in Europa und kratz die kurve da es sinnlos ist auf bessere zeiten zu warten, im gegenteil es wird noch schlimmer als es schon ist.

    Viel Zeit haben wir nicht, im April schlafen die wieder durch den Sommer, denk mal bis mitte Maerz dann kommt die Flaute wie ueblich.
