The owner of a used car sales outlet in Newcastle was hijacked at gunpoint on Wednesday as he took a prospective customer for a test drive, police said.

Captain Shooz Magudulela said the well dressed "prospective client" came into the shop and was "persuaded" by the shop's owner to take the Royal Blue Toyota Corolla for a test drive.

The owner found himself staring down the barrel of a 9mm gun moments after the two men were out on the road during the test drive.

He was dropped off near the town of Utrecht, about 40km from Newcastle, unharmed.

The name of the outlet has not been released and Magudulela said the Toyota had not been seen since.

Police have opened a case of hijacking.

Zille: ANC now led by criminals

The election of convicted fraudster Tony Yengeni to the ANC's powerful National Working Committee (NWC) is proof that the ruling party has been taken over by criminals, Democratic Alliance leader Helen Zille said on Wednesday.

"The outcome of the ANC's NEC meeting confirms that it has been irreversibly captured by populists, careerists and convicted criminals.

"This is a party willing to sacrifice principle at the altar of power as the election of Tony Yengeni's election to the NWC amply demonstrates," she said in a statement.

The outcome of the recent ANC meeting, Zille said, was evidence that Jacob Zuma was now fully in control of the ruling party.

"The Zuma camp's clean sweep of the NWC and his reaffirmation as the ANC's presidential candidate means that Zuma has won the battle for the soul of the ANC," she said.

She made a call to those ANC members who found it difficult to serve under a Zuma leadership to "jump ship".

"The DA will now accelerate its mission to build the moderate centre (and) if necessary, we will form strategic alliances with other opposition parties as well as members of the ruling party who cannot countenance the future South Africa faces under Zuma's ANC," she said.

Japanese diplomats robbed in Pta

Another two foreign diplomats have been attacked and robbed in separate incidents at their homes in the capital.
The two are with the Japanese embassy.

In the first incident, an embassy official was overwhelmed in his driveway by four armed men as he returned to his Waterkloof home from OR Tambo Airport at about 08:30 on Saturday.

National police spokesperson Dennis Adriao said the man was attacked by the gang as he waited for the guard to open the security gate at his home.

The robbers made off with his cellphone, wallet and luggage.

Another embassy official and his wife were attacked and held up by two robbers at their home in Lynwood, Pretoria, about 14:00 on Sunday.

Adriao said the armed men stole electrical appliances, jewellery and a laptop computer, among other things.

Teen and guard arrested

When approached on Monday, the embassy did not wish to name the victims nor comment on the robberies.

No one was injured in the attacks.

Adriao said a 17-year-old suspect was arrested on Sunday evening at a flat in the Pretoria CBD in connection with the robbery earlier that day.

A 23-year old security guard who was on duty at the home of the Japanese couple was also arrested.

A number of stolen items and the guard's firearm, which was taken during the robbery, were found at the flat.

Adriao said the diplomatic protection unit would shortly be strengthened by 100 new members.

He said 32 new vehicles already had been bought for the unit.

The police, members of the diplomatic corps and the ministry of safety and security met in November after several armed robberies at the homes of diplomats.

Stabbed diplomat stable

Adriao said on Monday the posts already had been advertised. They could be filled as early as February.

Meanwhile, High Commissioner of Tanzania Emmanuel Mwambulukutu, 63, who was smashed over the head with bottles by four robbers and then stabbed in the head with broken bottle pieces, is reported to be in a stable condition.

Sonja Ewels of Pretoria East Hospital said on Monday that although Mwambulukutu was showing signs of progress, he would still take a long time to recover.

So gehts heute in Kenia zu, man kann keinen Weissen oder die Apartheid veranwortlich macht das zeigt ganz deutlich das die Schwarzen einfach unfaehig sind, nicht mal in einer ""Demokratie"" die die Amis ueberall in der Welt geschaffen haben irgendwas auf die Beine zu stellen als nur die Hand aufzuhalten.

In vielen Laender funktioniert die nicht wie man hier sehen kann.
Erst Recht nicht in Afrika bei der Menge von Gehirnzellen.

Die verhungern immer wieder und schlagen sich die Koepfe ein wenn keiner hilft und alles bezahlt.
Irgendwann wird Afrika neu besiedelt von einer besseren Gruppe von Menschen die das Land wieder aufmoebeln wenn die Schwarzen alles zertruemmert haben und sich selber ausgerottet haben und so abenden wie in Zimbabwe und Rawanda zum Schluss.

Afrika mit den Schwarzen am Ruder ist ein Fass ohne Boden.

Heute die news bekommen aus der Nachbarschaft:

Ein bekanntes Restaurant am Constantia Nek wurde zweimal ueberfallen, beim ersten mal alle Gaeste mussten ihre Handys und Geld abgeben und die Kasse wurde geleert.

4 Tage spaeter kamen sie wieder, diesmal wurde der Besitzer erschossen da er zu lange brauchte die Kasse zu oeffnen, er starb kurz danach.
Sie fuehren weiter und ueberfielen ein Weingut Uitsig und eine Pizzeria bei einem Shopping Center in Constantia Village.

Mein Freund hat ein Restaurant das ausgeraubt wurde, Alkohol und Hifi Alange gestohlen in der Nacht zum am 2.Januar, die Polizei kam 5 Stunden spaeter nachdem die Alarmfirma bereits da war aber die Verbrecher waren laengst weg.

DA: SA heading towards anarchy

South Africa is heading towards anarchy if the fairness of the looming corruption trial against African National Congress president Jacob Zuma is disputed, said the Democratic Alliance on Friday.

"Zuma's trial will be held under the spotlight of the international community and media in an open court, presided over by a constitutionally entrenched independent judiciary.

"If South Africans do not believe this to be true, then we are on the slippery slope to anarchy," said DA spokesperson Eddie Trent in a statement.

He said any suggestions that Zuma would not have a fair trial were "nothing short of ridiculous".

"In fact, believing this to be true is like believing that taking a shower will wash away the chance of contracting Aids."

Trent also said Zuma should take a stronger stand against some of his supporters who have suggested violence might erupt if he is tried.

Cosatu's KZN provincial secretary Zet Luzipho apparently said this week that if the trial against Zuma continued, blood would flow, said Trent.

"(Zuma) must emphatically distance himself from any statement calling for blood to flow - a mere reprimand is not enough."

Zuma 'wants no violence'

On Friday, Zuma said in Beeld newspaper that he would not sanction violence breaking out because of his trial.

Responding to a warning by the KwaZulu-Natal office of the Congress of SA Trade Unions that there would be chaos if he did have to appear in court, Zuma said: "No, no, no.

"That is exactly what I don't want. I don't want people to die or that shops and vehicles be set alight. I want no violence.

"I understand people's anger, because even I am deeply upset over the latest move by the NPA (National Prosecuting Authority). But there are other legal ways that people can air their views and express their feelings and give expression to their unhappiness," Zuma was reported as saying.

"Violence is not the answer and I will never approve of it. I call on all of them to remain calm and abide by the law."

Zuma also told Beeld newspaper he would fight to the bitter end in the highest court to prove that he was innocent and did not commit any crime.

Woman, 90, raped at home

Johannesburg

A 90-year-old woman was raped at her home in Tsomo, Eastern Cape police said on Friday.

Captain Zamikaya Qinisile said at 19:21 on Wednesday, an unknown number of men broke down the door to the woman's house in the Qutsa area near Queenstown.

The men then raped the old woman and fled.

Police were investigating a case of rape.

No arrests have been made, :DQinisile said.

Silver in the 70s was a product of Bunker and Herbert Hunt as gold made new records.

Replace the Hunts with ETFs and silver has a chance of a repetition of 1968 - 1980 minus the degree of recession the world faces.
