Mexico Mike On PM Market Investing
Sunday, June 3, 2007.I believe we at currently at an interval in the market that is critical for exposing the mindset of individual investors. The PM sector has been through a rough few weeks, with daily declines across the board occurring mostly on low volume. During this sort of trading regime, which is nothing new for the sector, it tends to bring into play the weaknesses that may lurk in the approach that some people take for investing. It is very easy in other words for people to be aggressive and fearless when the stocks are going up. When that inevitable correction appears, some may find that their conviction disappears, and amid the uncertainty of the market, many will sell at a loss.
Those who invest rationally however, and focus on value, with an in-depth understanding of what they own and why they buy, will manage through the market corrections. They were likely less aggressive buying the tops in the first place, and are more disciplined in their trading. They will not be shaken or concerned if the market turns extremely ugly for a period of time, because they have done their homework and understand how the short term volatility can push stocks to extremes.
The key point in this discussion is that it is ESSENTIAL that investors understand what they own. Only with this basis of research can people fully appreciate if a company has actually grown stronger in the business model, even while its share capital may be weaker. Any rational investor would agree that the case to buy a company is more compelling if the company has grown but the market value is declining. Time and time again however, rationality takes a back seat to fear and ignorance.
The time when it is probably the most optimum to be a buyer is most likely when a weak investor is going to be compelled to sell. People will make excuses and justify their decisions, suggesting they will just sell until things settle down and then buy back in at lower prices, and it sounds smart. But very few people are ever able to do so. And the violence of a correction, and the subsequent recovery, make it very difficult to time these moves. Usually, a stock will have made a recovery before the timid investor has repurchased it and established a position below where it was sold. The opportunity is lost.
I cannot advise anyone on which stocks will be suitable for their own weaknesses in pschycology. I can only share information that will hopefully make people better educated in their choices to widthstand the violent choppy trading that is sure to characterize the sector. How much to allocate, and whether to participate in the juniors at all, is up to the individual.
So to return to my original point, I think we are at a defining moment right now. So few people are confident about the near term. Most analysts are bearish, and I suspect most retail investors have sold at least some of their holdings during the last few weeks. Yet the market may be on the verge of a major rally, at a time when few are expecting it, just as the sector is famous for. Will people understand that holding value is the appropriate course?
The bottom line in all of this is that it emphasizes the need to take a longer term outlook on investment decisions. Speculators can jump in or out with remarkable agility, but investing implies a fundamental understanding of the company and the market sector, and therefore that development often takes many months to play out, while market volatility can occur over weeks or months. If you buy quality and then become concerned over a normal and expected market downturn, then your fear will undermine your opportunity for success.
Be an investor. Determine what a company is working to achieve and monitor the progress. Be proactive in the market, timing your action to buy weakness and sell strength. Know the difference in duration between a development cycle and a market cycle. The most important variable that will determine the performance of an investment is the ability to find quality companies and buy aggressively when the market temporarily prices them at a discount.
We may or may not get a strong recovery this week. Perhaps the reversal on Thursday and Friday were just counter-cyclical gyrations in what will be a prolonged correction. I do not pretend to know, and frankly, I do not care. I was a buyer during the correction and I am content to hold for the inevitable recovery whenever that may arrive. But woe unto those whom were selling the lows and must now watch from the sidelines if in fact we see a strong rebound play out this week.
Next year we will probably see the same kind of ups and downs. Perhaps those that got caught on the wrong side of a trade will recognize this as part of the ongoing education we all face as investors, and be better prepared for the next wave.
I describe myself as a perma-bull. I do not worry trying to time the corrections or sell ahead of them. My outlook is based on the expectation that we are in a generational long cycle bull market, with many years ahead to enjoy. Therefore any short term losses sustained will be recovered and then some, in short order. I know that my outlook is not compatible with the expectations of everyone else out there, so just take these comments in the context they are written, and hopefully it will help others to form their own effective strategy.
cheers!

Von Eichelburgs Webseite:
Neu 2007-06-03:
Aus dem Privateer#579 (http://www.the-privateer.com) von Bill Buckler:
WARNING LIGHTS FLASHING WORLDWIDE
Something dangerous is coming - though it is not here - yet.
Two months ago, as Gold was grinding its way slowly upwards against old overhead resistance towards $US 700, a new supply of Gold bullion appeared. Over the past few weeks, this new supply has increased. The European central banks, led by the European Central Bank (ECB) itself, have increased their Gold sales. On the opposite side, the US Dollar has had a small rally against the Euro. Gold and Gold receivables held by European central banks have fallen by Euro 1.46 Billion since the start of April. As its own latest data shows, the ECB led these Gold sales. Considering this pressure, the Gold price has held up well.
Historically, ever since the “London Gold Pool” days of the late ‘60s, the Central Banks have only sold Gold held in inventory when they were scared white about events happening in the fiat money system or in the global credit money system they built on top of their fiat money systems.....
Perhaps the ECB is selling Gold for US Dollars and then buying US Treasuries just to buy some time....
In REAL terms, global inflation is rampant, as shown by the double digit increases in money supply almost everywhere. In REAL terms, the level of global stock markets are at appallingly high levels given the lack of soundness of the economies and financial systems which underpin them. This is true everywhere, whatever the perceived level of official economic “growth”. In REAL terms, the level of interest rates across the world do not begin to compensate the holders of debt paper from the risks being taken in holding it. In REAL terms, the gap between financial perceptions and financial reality has never been this high. The sum of all this is REAL danger.
The first signals of the impending implosion have already been given. Gold has taken a sudden leap in price and the rise in longer-term US Treasury yields, which has been going on for a month, has suddenly accelerated. The world is in for what is potentially a series of financial earthquakes this northern summer the likes of which it has never seen. It could start anytime, and almost anywhere.

Zitat

Overall Operating Performance and Highlights
- As of the date of this report, silver producing operations of the Company are carried out through three operating segments being the La Parrilla Silver Mine, the La Encantada Silver Mine, and the San Martin Silver Mine. This period marked the first full quarter of operations in which all three mines operated under the First Majestic umbrella.
- Sales revenue for the quarter ended March 31, 2007, increased significantly to $10,158,621 representing a 24.8% increase from the prior quarter's revenues of $8,138,284, and a 1,415% increase from the same quarter revenues ended March 31, 2006 of $671,435.
- Mine earnings (cash basis) for the quarter ended March 31, 2007 increased to $3,375,730 representing a 1,165% increase from the prior quarter's mine earnings of $266,767, and an increase of 4,432% from mine earnings of $74,486 for the quarter ended March 31, 2006.
- The average realized silver price was $15.00 (US$12.80) per ounce of silver for the three months ended March 31, 2007, compared to $13.70 (US$12.03) per ounce for the quarter ended December 31, 2006 and $10.06 (US$8.72) per ounce for the quarter ended March 31, 2006.
- For the quarter ended March 31, 2007, the Company's three operating mines produced a combined 753,442 ounces of silver equivalent at a cash cost of $10.02 (US$8.55) per ounce of silver which consisted of 719,993 ounces of silver, 519 ounces of gold and 327,818 pounds of lead. Production for the quarter increased by more than 31% compared to the prior quarter's production of 574,704 ounces of silver equivalent, and was an increase of 1,290% over the 59,329 ounces of silver equivalent produced in the quarter ended March 31, 2006. Of the silver produced in the period, a total of 677,241 equivalent ounces was sold at an average sales price of $15.00 in the quarter (US$12.80), and an average cost to produce of $10.02 (US$8.55); the balance remained in inventory at the end of the quarter.
- Average cost of production per ounce of silver has been reduced by 27% from $13.70 (US$12.03) for the six month transitional period ended December 31, 2006, to $10.02 (US$8.55) for the three months ended March 31, 2007. The Company does not reduce its costs of production by other metal credits for silver equivalents, and has chosen to recognize the credits in revenues of the period in which the silver equivalents are sold.
- On March 20, 2007, the Company completed the acquisition of Minera La Encantada S.A. de C.V. ("La Encantada"), a Mexican mining company whose primary asset is the La Encantada Silver Mine located at the Coahuila State in Mexico.
- Subsequent to the period end, the Company completed a private placement of special warrants for gross proceeds of $34,415,000. A total of 6,883,000 special warrants were sold at a price of $5.00 per special warrant through Cormark Securities Inc. (formerly Sprott Securities Inc.) and CIBC World Markets Inc. (as co-lead underwriters) and Blackmont Capital Inc.
- The loss before income taxes increased by $1,143,665 to $2,139,663 for the three months ended March 31, 2007, compared to $995,998 for the three months ended March 31, 2006, due to the higher amortization, depreciation and depletion, and additional operating costs resulting from the extreme growth experienced between this period and the same period in the prior year.
- The net loss after taxes increased to $3,061,899 ($0.06 per share) from $995,998 ($0.03 per share) due primarily to the additional amortization, depreciation and depletion, and additional operating expenses being experienced as a result in the large scale growth in the Company from $25.5 million in total assets to $189.7 million in total assets. The growth experienced is as a result of acquiring First Silver, La Encantada and Desmin, as well as the large investments in expansion capital at the La Parrilla mine and mill. By way of comparison, the Company presently has three producing mines with a total operating capacity of 2,600 tonnes per day, whereas on March 31, 2006, only one mine was operating, the La Parrilla Silver Mine which had a capacity of 180 tonnes per day.
Management is very encouraged by these positive results from operations. Mr. Neumeyer, President, stated; "This is our first quarter where we have had all mines operating to the credit of our own accounts and even though there is still much room for improvement, we are pleased with the direction in which the Company is moving. A lot of work is going into increasing production levels and lowering costs which we anticipate will become more evident over the coming quarters."
First Majestic is a producing silver company focused in Mexico and is aggressively pursuing its business plan to become a senior silver producer through the development of its existing assets and the pursuit through acquisition of additional assets that contribute to achieving its corporate growth objectives.

Good bye and good Luck.

Its all yours, find another Fan in deinen Mineneck.
