Baby shot on fleeing mom's back

Johannesburg - A year-old baby girl was shot dead on her mother's back on Tuesday when "a war" broke out in the city centre and 40 shots were fired in less than a minute.

Dozens of yellow police cones and little Khensani Mitileni's pink takkies sticking from under a bloodied blanket told of the wild shoot-out in which seven people were wounded.

Khensani's uncle Samuel Mitileni, 32, said he and her mother, Cynthia, 27, had just got out of a taxi about noon when a gang of robbers began firing wildly at two Coin Security cash guards at the corner of Wanderers and Bree streets.

They had just collected money from a nearby hairdressing salon.

Baby shot in the head

"Cynthia and the child were going to buy meat at the butchery when the shooting began and my sister tried to get out of the way," he said.

"When it calmed down, she felt something wet on her back.

"She took Khensani off her back and realised she'd been shot in the head."

Cynthia Mitileni was too shocked to speak to the media. She received counselling at the scene.

Witnesses told how " hell broke loose" when bullets began flying to and fro between six to eight robbers, cash guards and security guards from businesses in the area.

'40 bullets fired in a minute'

One man said he was on the way to deliver products to a hairdressing salon when the first robber's bullet was fired five metres away from him.

"I fell flat on my rear, because I didn't know where the shot came from," he said.

"Afterwards about 40 bullets were fired in a minute. People ran everywhere to get away."

Businessman Peter Naidoo, who also had to dodge the bullets, said business owners in the area "have had enough".

"Crime has reached a new low point - it was like a war.

"All we can do now is shoot the robbers dead ourselves before we phone the police, because all they do is take statements after the event and pick up corpses," said Naidoo.

"We're not protected at all. We're attacked daily and today an innocent child lost her life."

Malcolm Midgley of Johannesburg emergency services said seven bystanders with gunshot wounds had been admitted to several hospitals.

Three of them were in a critical condition.

'Dodging bullets daily'

"In addition, a pregnant woman fell and was hurt when she tried to run away and another person had an epileptic fit," said Midgley.

Police senior sperintendent Mary Martins-Engelbrecht said the robbers took a money box from the guards.

"Three of the robbers raced away in a white bakkie parked near the shop, while the other four fled on foot," she said.

"No one has been arrested yet."

DA council member Ann Barnes said the government could not rely on the successes of various crime operations, like Operation Iron Fist, when residents had to dodge bullets daily.

Sacrificing a child

"The minister of safety and security (Charles Nqakula) speaks about ordinary citizens who must get involved in the struggle against crime.

"But, what does a child know about crime?

"And, why should her family sacrifice a member on the altar of government inaction?

"At least, let this little girl's death mean something.

"Please let it be the spur that finally gets the government to act instead of planning and planning and allowing criminals to run this city," said Barnes. ad?"

Standerton - A man accused of raping and then trying to kill a woman simply walked out of court and vanished.
Sipho Moses Mathibela, 28, of Sakhile was appearing in the Standerton magistrate's court in Mpumalanga on Friday.

When he was fetched from the holding cells, he casually walked past the dock, out of the door and melted into the crowds outside.

According to witnesses, only one court orderly was on duty and he couldn't chase after the suspect as he had other prisoners to guard. $$$$

Station commissioner for the Standerton police station, which is responsible for supplying court orderlies, Superintendent Harry Shabangu, has launched an investigation.

"I have seven members working in that court," he said. "I cannot accept that there was only one member on duty in that courtroom. Where were the other members?

"I have launched a full investigation into this escape and if I find that there was negligence on anybody's part, proper steps will be taken," said Shabangu.

Mathibela is still at large. He is charged with rape, attempted murder, kidnapping and the unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.

S.Africa: Opposition leader comments on 1 million whites left in 10 years

[Tony Leon is saying the logical think - from a white perspective. But people forget that the blacks are paranoid, and grabbing hold of power is crucial for them. Whites in jobs could be a threat... from their point of view.

CAPE TOWN – Government needs to take a hard look at its “race-fuelled myopia”, and find ways to retain the skilled citizens needed for economic growth, the only way to reduce poverty and create jobs, Democratic Alliance leader Tony Leon said on Friday.

Recent reports emanating from the Institute of Race Relations (IRR) indicated about a fifth of white South Africans had emigrated over the past ten years, he wrote in his weekly newsletter on the DA website.

“There is no doubt that we can ill afford to lose such a substantial number of our citizens -- regardless of their race,” Leon said.

All concerned South Africans should be worried by the steep rise in white emigration.

The figures confirmed a distinct trend, whereby large numbers of productive and skilled South Africans had chosen to leave their homeland for good.

“An overarching question suggests itself: why have they chosen to do so, and what are the likely consequences for the country?” According to the IRR report, the main reasons given by emigrants were crime and affirmative action.

“I would like to add a third, which at a deeper level -- the level of citizens’ emotional stake in the country -- explains why the other two reasons, instead of being issues worthy of debate and contestation in the public arena, become definitive,” Leon said.

This was the ANC’s disturbing attitude towards minorities, and the consequent perception this fostered among whites that their citizenship was undervalued.

“Put bluntly: the ANC government is not merely indifferent to the lot of minorities, especially whites, but in many instances has frankly expressed hostility to their interests.”

While Deputy President Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka recently admitted the skills drain was costing the country dearly and expressed her desire to lure South African emigrants back from overseas, the attitude deriving from the highest office in the land was disturbing.

After initially taking care to present himself as a racial reconciler in the admirable mould of ex-President Nelson Mandela, President Thabo Mbeki -- as well as his closest political associates -- had in recent years continuously called the bone fides of the white community and their commitment to change into question, Leon said.

“This obsession with whites’ so-called racism is pursued with a relish and determination that can only be described as racist itself.”

There was a disturbing message from government -- minorities, tolerated at best, actively resented at worst, should either put up or shut up.

“Is it any wonder that many South Africans, feeling excluded from our common future, have voted with their feet and departed for destinations where they feel wanted?

“Unpleasant as government’s racial slurs may be -- both the direct brickbats and the more subtle innuendoes -- the truth is that we as a nation cannot afford to lose skilled and hard-working citizens of whatever hue.

“South Africa stands poised for massive investment in our economic infrastructure in the near future, such as government’s Accelerated and Shared Growth Initiative and the 2010 World Cup,” he said.

At the same time, as Mlambo-Ngcuka conceded, South Africa was experiencing a chronic shortage of skills necessary to drive and harness these developments.

“Rather than allowing skilled citizens to vacate without a murmur, we need to retain their expertise to sustain the growth our citizenry as a whole so desperately needs.

“We have generated capital to spend on investment, but we don’t have the people to spend it effectively.

“In fact, the pursuit of transformation at all costs, especially in the public sector, has incapacitated the state and seized up its machinery at the very point that most is expected of it,” he said.

“Given a globalising world in which skilled individuals as well as capital investment are more mobile than ever before, and are maximising their careers by moving elsewhere, government needs to take a hard look at its race-fuelled myopia, and create the conditions that encourage productive South Africans to stay and contribute to growth - which in the longer term is the only real answer to joblessness and poverty.

“In short: government needs to reassess its message so that all feel included and valued.

“Foot-dragging at best and vindictiveness at worst undermines all of our futures -- most especially those South Africans for too long disadvantaged by our apartheid legacy and whose interests the ruling party professedly wants to advance,” Leon said.

Resultat, er bedauert es heute denn der Sohn wurde vergewaltigt und hat nun HIV.

Buthelezi, the leader of the IFP, and a Zulu Prince gave a speech recently. In it he mentioned that the ANC-led Govt has already lost the war on AIDS in this country.

He mentioned that according to some figures, as much as 40% of S.Africa's population might be HIV+ - and that according to others this might even grow to as much as 50%.

That is the first time I have heard a black leader talking like this.

On my website is an analysis by Dr Jan Du Plessis, a geostrategist in Pretoria. He did an analysis of S.Africa called "South Africa: Beyond Democracy". His analysis was based on 30% of S.Africans being HIV+. And the results of his study were horrific. He basically said S.Africa would collapse due to HIV alone. That study was done quite a long time ago.

So imagine now... with HIV maybe being at 40% or MORE... what it holds for this country... Dr Du Plessis's study basically said that HIV alone will be the biggest single factor changing S.African society. He felt that not even Government would be able to match the power of change which HIV alone could force on this country - hence he referred to it as "Beyond Democracy". In essence, he said, it does not matter what people want to do in this country - AIDS is going to force this country along a path that nobody can control or stop.

His predictions are coming true.

And Buthelezi, to his credit, is the first black leader to come out and openly state the horrific facts. Jan

I mentioned this when Jeff Rense interviewed me recently. He referred to these as armoured vans. Over here we call these Cash-in-transit heists. These are armoured vans which carry a lot of money between the banks and shops.

Even our Govt, according to their fudged figures, reckon that Cash-in-Transit heists are up 74%.

These attacks are carried out with military precision, and they are mostly inside jobs.
It is shocking how easily they are managing to figure out the routes these vans are taking. The vans are armed, the guards have bullet-proof vests and are armed with semi-automatic weapons. And yet... they are attacked and ambushed. They are rammed off the roads. There are fierce gun battles.

You will see these vans have been shot at or over-turned. In one instance, the guards and driver were trapped inside.

The criminals poured petrol on the van and set it alight and burned them to death!! Wild stuff.

Also ich merke nichts, die werden hier immer mehr in Kapstadt.
Sie denken hier faellt ihnen alles in den Schoss und stellen spaeter fest das es keine Arbeit gibt.

Die Regierung macht da nicht viel, Mbeki unser President sagte es gibt gar kein HIV.

Wenn ein Schwarzer HIV Familienmitglied im Township zur Last wird dann verabreicht man oft Poolsaeure oder Batterie Acid in kleinen Dosen dann stirbt der ganz schnell und keiner fragt warum er nun starb.
Ich glaube die Luecke wird aufgefuellt mit neuen Schwarzen die vom Ausland kommen, die meisten von denen sind auch die gefaehrlichsten Verbrecher wie die aus Nigeria die Drogenscene und Prostitution uebernehmen und die Konkurenz abknallen. Die Feindseligkeiten zwischen den Einheimischen Schwarzen und die vom Ausland sind hoch. Die Regierung hat versagt und ihre Versprechen der Wahl nicht eingehalten, viele sagen das es unter dem Apatheidssytem ihnen bis auf Wahlrecht besser ging. Die Vote kann man leider nicht essen.
Hoert sich wieder rassistisch an, aber die haben einige genetische Fehler und sind reine Verbraucher.
Wenn einer arbeitet dann erst die Frau und darum hat man oft mehere die das tun.
Man kauft die Tochter fuer Lebowa (Geschenke) Vieh, Geld etc. vom Vater und sie muss beim Kaufer bleiben ist Gang und Gebe hier.

Ohne das ich wieder nachtreten will,man koennte genauso sagen jeder der Investments/Aktien in RSA oder Afrika hat dann ebenfalls Blut auf den Haenden egal ob weisses oder schwarzes Blut.
Ok, vergisst den letzten Satz, ihr koennt auch nichts dafuer wenn Blut fliesst.
Business kennt keine Moral heutzutage.

Es gibt nun ca.ein drittel Farmer weniger im Land die fuer Essen gesorgt haben. Ob ein Schwarzer faehig ist eine Farm zu fuehren ueberlasse ich Eurer Fantasie, die kriminellen hier haben nichts mehr zu verlieren und sind durch Inflation und Arbeitslosigkeit eigentlich gezwungen kriminell an Essen zu kommen. Der gefaehrlichste Gegner ist der Hunger hat.

Wie es weiter geht, kann sich jeder selber ausrechnen, die Nachbarlaender geben einen Anhaltspunkt dafuer.

Ich habe viel ueber RSA hier berichtet, solche Berichte seht ihr selten in Euren Medien die ein rosiges Bild von RSA zeigen und eine funktionierende Multi-Rassen Gesellschaft Euch vorgaukeln.

Mein Fehler war ich habe private Probleme ins Forum geschrieben habe die der Ausloeser fuer die Unruhe und Aufstand war. I am sorry !

Wer diesen thread von Anfang an gelesen hat sollte kapiert haben das es auch ein anderes Bild von RSA gibt.

HorstWalter sollte man nun ebenfalls in Ruhe lassen, wir machen alle Fehler, nobody is perfekt !

Die Frage ist unbeantwortet ob man hier nun offen schreiben kann was man denkt und sich fuehlt oder nur so weit geht das man nirgendwo aneckt und die brutale Wahrheit verschweigt.

Es redet sich leicht vom Ausland wenn man nicht selbst betroffen ist und 7 von 10 der Bevoelkerung Schwarze sind die mit amerikanischen Schwarzen nicht zu vergleichen sind.

Hier fehlt noch jahrzehnte lange Education, Understanding, Tolerance Jobs und Food damit es klappen koennte.

Hoffnung, das ist alles was noch bleibt, ehrlich gesagt ich habe die aufgegeben selbst nach 21 Jahren in diesen schoenen Land.

Ich moechte mich als erstes bei allen bedanken die meine Situation verstehen und Partei fuer mich ergriffen haben in der Sache.
Das ist der springende Punkt nochmals zu schreiben.

Ich bin ein Mensch der verzeihen kann und moechte meine Freunde sowie Leser von mir deshalb nicht entaeuschen sonst haetten die mich beleidigt haben naehmlich gewonnen.
Ich will nicht, obwohl ich auch bocken koennte das durch mich das Forum an wertvollen Mitgliedern verliert.
Deshalb lege ich meinen Stolz auf die Seite und hoffe wir kommen wieder zu einen lesbaren Forum in dem alle profitieren und lernen.

Ich bin ziemlich erschoepft und brauche eine Pause.
Ich versuche sobald Ruhe einkehrt und ich meine Gedanken wieder ordnen kann wieder zu erscheinen.

Netcare 911 spokesperson Nick Dollman said paramedics were called to the scene before 07:30.

"The boy was already dead when our paramedics arrived. He suffered a fatal wound in the neck."

Dollman said according to witnesses, the boy was stabbed by another pupil.

Police were not immediately available for comment.

Bitte kommt wieder zu Thema, es ist und bleibt mein Problem das ich loesen muss.

Bezueglich der Bemerkung ueber Rassismus sage ich nur eines:
Lebt erstmal hier, lernt die Leute kennen und dann koennt ihr mitreden und urteilen.

Aus der Ferne redet es sich leicht, ich bin 21 Jahre in RSA und kenne auch viele andere Afrikanische Laender.

Wenn man kein Opfer ist und nur Geniesser/Besucher ist sieht alles anders aus.

So wie man die meisten Deutschen heute noch als Nazis bezeichnet und die Judenfrage heute noch besteht stehen wir alle Weissen noch fuer viele Jahre als Rassisten da in einem schwarzen Land mit schwarzer Regierung und Justiz die uns Weissen das selbe unter die Nase reibt.

Mehr sage ich nicht mehr zu dem Thema, wer es nicht glaubt soll mit den Negern ueber Monate zusammen leben und in den Townships wohnen damit er weiss was der Unterschied zwischen Schwarz und Weiss eigentlich ist.

Schaut auch mal im RSA thread und lest den bevor man solche Bemerkungen macht wenn man nicht her will und die Sache im Fernseher anschaut und dann urteilt.
