Sprott Asset Management raises stake in bullion Web site GoldMoney.com
GoldMoney.com, a Web site which allows investors to buy and sell gold and silver, has a significant Canadian investor: Sprott Asset Management Inc. Sprott Asset has increased its stake in the Web site to 9.9%. GoldMoney is like an online bank, but uses "goldgrams" and "mils" rather than dollars and cents. Investors buy and sell gold in the same way an investor can buy and sell stock. The actual gold is stored in a specialized bullion vault and insured by Lloyd's of London. Other GoldMoney shareholders include Canada's IAMGOLD Corp. and and South Africa's DRDGOLD Ltd., according to GoldMoney's Web site. GoldMoney is located in Jersey, one of the British Channel Islands.
