1000 USD POG in 2007 kommt.
    15 -20 Dollar Silber in 2007

To short Silver is a deathwish sagen einige.

Served at The Dos Passos Table:

The Daily Reckoning PRESENTS: The derivatives market
has reached a face value of $480 trillion...30 times the
size of the U.S. economy...and 12 times the size of the
entire world economy. Trading in derivatives has become
not merely a huge boom or even a large bubble - but the
mother of a whole tribe of bubbles...dripping little
big bubbles throughout the entire financial sector.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The notion that the U.S. has no more gold (all reprocessed and swapped / leased or sold] and is now conducting swaps for "DEEP GOLD" is also highly consistent with – or at least provides a credible reason for – both Rothschild and AIG exiting the gold market in April/May 04 and June 04 respectively. They knew the basis of the physical game was "over".

This obscure news item [originally published in the N.Y. Post by Jennifer Anderson] in late Jan. 04 would probably have hastened the exit from the metals markets of the players named above:

DA investigating Nymex executive - Manhattan, New York, district attorney's office, Stuart Smith - Melting Pot - Brief Article – Feb. 2, 2004

A top executive at the New York Mercantile Exchange is being investigated by the Manhattan district attorney. Sources close to the exchange said that Stuart Smith, senior vice president of operations at the exchange, was served with a search warrant by the district attorney's office last week. Details of the investigation have not been disclosed, but a Nymex spokeswoman said it was unrelated to any of the exchange's markets. She declined to comment further other than to say that charges had not been brought. A spokeswoman for the Manhattan district attorney's office also declined comment.

You see, the offices of the Senior Vice President of Operations - NYMEX – is exactly where you would go to find the records [serial number and smelter of origin] for EVERY GOLD BAR ever PHYSICALLY settled on the exchange. They are required to keep these records. These precise records would show the lineage of all the physical gold settled on the exchange and hence "prove" that the amount of gold in question could not have possibly come from the U.S. mining operations – because the amounts in question coming from U.S. smelters would undoubtedly be vastly bigger than domestic mine production.

We never have found out what happened to poor ole Stuart Smith – after his offices were "raided" – he took administrative leave from the NYMEX and he has never been heard from since. Amazingly [or perhaps not], there has also been ZERO follow up on in the media on the original story as well as ZERO developments stemming from D.A. Morgenthau’s office who executed the search warrant.

There is now absolutely no doubt in my mind that these events are connected.

Rising interest rates - would hammer consumer spending and push the U.S. economy to the edge of recession.

Zitat von Ben Bernanke ? :

Make no mistake about it, a recession is where we are headed.

We admit our role in fueling these bubbles by holding interest rates too low too long. Rather that attempt to cover up past mistakes our new policy at the Fed is honesty, and honestly we really do not know what to do. When we do decide what to do, we will tip off the banks first (just as we always have) because our biggest fear of all is a collapse of the banking system.

Unfortunately we can’t start cutting interest rates just yet because we are also frightened by the massive speculation in the financial markets with stock buybacks, mergers, leveraged buyouts, and trillions of dollars in derivatives floating around some of which we do not even know who the ultimate guarantor is. :D

    1. The left side of the smile reflects an appreciating U.S. dollar if global risk comes back into the financial system.

Despite the ongoing problems facing the U.S. economy and the much talked about structural problems that are supposed to hurt the dollar, e.g. budget deficit, trade deficit, etc. the dollar could rally significantly if there's a shakeup to the global financial system. And there is a scenario unfolding that could do just that.

You see, U.S. fund managers hold approximately US$18 trillion in their hedge funds, which help prop up the U.S. dollar. These amounts dwarf the foreign exchange reserves held by Asian central banks. And I suspect much of this US$18 trillion investment is highly leveraged on borrowed money, based on the latest data from the Bank of International Settlements and International Swaps and Derivative Association.

Leveraged bets by institutional fund managers have been successful thus far because there's been little volatility in financial markets and because stocks and bonds have continued to trend higher and higher on this wall of money.

But this game, or a large portion of it, could end quickly if there is a major institutional bankruptcy or political shock. Given the general level of euphoria across the global stock and bond markets, this type of surprise could easily trigger a rush back into short-term U.S. deposits for safe-keeping. That would spark a significant rally in the buck no matter what the condition of the U.S. economy is.

    2. The middle of the smile reflects a depreciating dollar against the major currencies as the U.S. economy continues to muddle through .

This view takes into account the ongoing weakness in the U.S. economy led by U.S. consumers finally surrendering to falling housing prices, rising energy prices, and too much debt. This would shift the expectation among currency players from a Federal Reserve Bank that is virtually "on hold" to one that is looking to cut rates as fast and as often as it can going forward. This could be a double-whammy for the buck. If growth falls and interest rates fall, then the buck loses the two fundamental supports to keep it afloat against the major currencies. It would be the green light traders need to dump dollars. And with overall sentiment in the market still being dollar bearish, this would validate expectations and likely lead to more and more selling.

    3. The right side of the smile reflects an appreciation in the dollar on the back of a U.S. growth surprise .
Even though U.S. consumers have taken a hit from the falling housing market, consumers have overall, shown surprising resiliency. Just a few months ago, many economists expected that the surge in energy prices -coupled with the downturn in housing and rising interest rates - would hammer consumer spending and push the U.S. economy to the edge of recession.

There is no doubt all these factors have slowed U.S. growth. And housing is still the major wildcard that could push the consumer over the edge. But, some economists are beginning to believe that if the U.S. job market remains firm, U.S consumer spending and growth could reaccelerate. This rather optimistic crowd is labeling the current economic slowdown a "mid-cycle pause." That would surprise the market and it would shift current expectations toward higher U.S. economic growth and higher U.S. interest rates. And that's good news for the buck.

Only time will tell which of these scenarios plays out. I'll be on the lookout for any indicator that favors one scenario over the other.

    End

America is doing well ! ?(

Use the USD and buy Gold.... :).. this may work.

Anyway, good luck to you and no bad feelings !

I am a Goldbug, you appear not to be, make up your mind once and for all and don't jump around in between, again !

Read the posting above....Fiat will collapse and Gold/Silver goes to the moon.

Still interested in Bonds or Fiat Money ?? :D

    I AM NOT , I PROTECT MYSELF FOR THE LONG/MIDDLE/SHORT RUN !

    WITH........

    From Ben Bernanke:

Speaking on behalf of all the Fed members we thought it was time to honestly address the situation the country is facing. This is part of our new policy to be as candid and honest as possible. Quite frankly we are frightened by the rapid falloff in housing permits, the rise in jobless claims, the rise in inventories, and the slowdown in consumer spending. It now appears the landing is not going to be soft and it is also doubtful the financial markets are fully prepared for it.

This slowdown in jobs and wages could not have come at a worse time because consumers are cash strapped already. We now forecast a downward spiral in construction jobs that will spill over into other segments of the economy resulting in additional losses in wages and jobs. Compounding the problem is the fact that many home buyers took the advice of former chairman Greenspan by taking out adjustable rate mortgages with teaser rates that are now about ready to be reset.
Unfortunately we can’t start cutting interest rates just yet because we are also frightened by the massive speculation in the financial markets with stock buybacks, mergers, leveraged buyouts, and trillions of dollars in derivatives floating around some of which we do not even know who the ultimate guarantor is. :D

We are hoping but do not know that the ultimate guarantor of these derivatives is not Madame Merriweather's Mud Hut in Malaysia. :D
We do not want to fuel further speculation in the equity markets so we have decided to do nothing for as long as possible. Another reason for doing nothing right now is the rapid fall in the US dollar. This frightens us too :(.

All in all, we have decided the best policy decision is to do nothing while hoping that things get better. Please bear in mind, however, that hope is unlikely to work.
Many financial analysts have suggested that corporate spending will take the place of consumer spending when the consumer is finally tapped out. That can’t and won’t happen. Businesses have no reason to expand headed into a consumer led recession. But instead of wisely holding cash for the rough times ahead, businesses have been spending it on stock buybacks at an all time record pace. As you might guess, this further frightens us.
That we are frightened by so many things is clearly visible in the price of gold. In fact, we really have been trying to figure out why the price of gold isn't much higher given how frightened we are.....This is indeed our latest conundrum.

In the past we have avoided talking about such issues because of fear that we might simultaneously prick the bubble in houses and the bubble in the equity markets.

Careful analysis, however, shows that the average consumer is benefiting from the rise in equity markets as much as he benefited from the $34 billion in bonuses that Wall Street just handed out (which is another way of saying not at all). Real wages have been falling for the average guy on the street and that is shown by 19 consecutive months of negative savings rates, which is of course still another thing we are frightened by.

    A Sure Thing Silver Cycle?
    Optimist
    Dec 02, 2006

No need to look at charts of silver prices. A simple glance at the calendar will tell you that it is winter already, so silver must be skyrocketing. Many writers on several websites have pointed out that buying silver in the summer and selling it in the winter is a sure and easy way to make lots of profits. If you can't grow up to be the Federal Reserve and print your own fiat, buying silver in the summer and selling in the winter just might be the next best way to dramatically increase the number of FRNs in your bank account. After all, if everyone knows that strategy ... :)

    Interessante Zeiten......

Ich wuensche Euch ein schoenes Wochenende.

    Von Le Metropole Cafe:

As usual The Gold Cartel began its counterattack Friday at 3 AM NY time. Gold dropped $5 off of its highs by the early Comex trading. However, weak US economic numbers sent the dollar reeling and gold rebounded. Never fear shorts, The Gold Cartel will be here … again.

The PM Fix came in very firm at $648.75. As soon as the physical market pricing for the day was over, the cabal showed up once more and down gold went. What is so aggravating is these people do the same things at the same times and none of the brain dead out there in the mainstream gold world ever mention it.

It’s not sour apples over gold going lower. It is why. The dollar fell .43 to 82.42, and the euro rose .85 to 133.35. Yesterday the pundits said gold rose because the dollar was hit. Well, what about today? Did that relationship disappear overnight?

US interest rates plummeted on those weak economic numbers, sending the yield on the 10-year T note down to 4.43%. Those lower rates are gold friendly and in a free market would have been another factor in sending the price of gold higher, not lower.

Oil? It went up again too, gaining 39 cents to $63.52 per barrel.

The Fed is petrified of a sharply rising gold market and has put The Gold Cartel on full alert and into active duty.

This morning the talk on CNBC was how the Fed has a serious dilemma with the dollar falling like it is. They need to keep interest rates low to stimulate the economy. However, as they state inflation is their primary concern, how do they do both? Their Achilles Heel is a sharply rising gold price, as every mainstream pundit on Planet Wall Street would point to a surging price of gold as a sign inflation is too high, or NOT being contained enough. US interest rates can’t be taken down in that scenario. Thus
The Gold Cartel will do all it can to halt advances, or keep them very orderly, so as to not attract too much attention.
They are going to have a great deal of trouble doing so, with demand for gold so firm.
