STERLING MINING ADDS TO SILVER VALLEY HOLDINGS

Wallace, Idaho –– August 17, 2006 (BUSINESS WIRE) – Sterling Mining Company (OTC BULLETIN BOARD: SRLM) announced today it has leased an additional 520 acres of unpatented mining claims adjacent to its RC claim group in the southeastern portion of the Silver Valley, Idaho, increasing Sterling’s total position in the Silver Valley to 18,220 acres through ownership, lease or option agreements. Sterling has also acquired from New Jersey Mining Company their entire interest in the CAMP project located in the Coeur d’Alene Mining District in Idaho.

This addition of the leased claims in the Silver Valley provides Sterling additional exploration potential for the long term. The claims are considered an early stage prospect. Sterling will develop an exploration program spanning the next few years employing modern geophysical and geochemical exploration techniques.

The Camp Project is now a joint venture of Sterling Mining Co, Merger Mines (OTC: MERG) and U.S. Silver Corporation as operator. It is in the heart of the Coeur d’Alene mining district, located between Coeur d’Alene Mines’ and Sterling Mining Company’s properties. The interest was acquired for a $120,000 cash payment and provides Sterling a land ownership position and a 7% Net profits interest. Sterling already had an interest in the property which can be accessed via Sterling’s Silver Summit tunnel. This acquisition enlarges Sterling’s interest in the CAMP Project property.

“Our primary current exploration and development work is focused on our Sunshine Mine project in the “Silver Belt” of the Coeur d’Alene Mining District in Idaho”, stated Sterling’s President, Ray De Motte. “Sterling has continually sought to expand its land position and exploration potential in this historic mining district through ownership and joint venture. The CAMP project acquisition in particular strengthens our interest in the area.”

Gold has been smelling disaster for months now and that's why the last rally went beyond just about anyone's expectations. It's also why the recent correction of 25% was so short time wise. Everyone in New York and Washington has carefully sidestepped gold's message in an effort to paint a "business as usual" scenario. Things are fine in Iraq, and Iran is an "isolated" case. Spin, spin, and more spin! The yellow metal has been around for five thousand years, and there isn't much under the sun that it hasn't seen. The George Bush's of the world have come and gone while gold has stood the test of time. Like Mother Nature, you just can't fool it. If I am right, and we are standing on the edge of the abyss, you are going to see gold rise farther and faster than just about anyone could have thought. Unless I miss my guess, a new all-time high will be seen by year's end, and that will be just the beginning. The administration will do everything in their power, including confiscation, to paint a picture of satisfaction and contentment, but they'll fail in the end. You can outlaw the truth, but only for so long....

Note how the histograms, RSI, and MACD are all turning up. I believe we are on the verge of a second test of resistance at 644.50 and then 664.20. Once we get through these areas, we'll test 686.20 and then 728.00. Given the lack of fiscal responsibility, supply/demand concerns, the Middle East debacle, and growing inflationary pressures, I believe that gold will be at a new all-time high by Christmas Naturally I am long gold and will stay that way. In fact, once we close above 664.20, I will add on.

Was ist da nun wieder los ... ?(

NEW YORK, Aug (Reuters) - Silver and gold miner Coeur d'Alene Mines Corp. (CDE.N: Quote, Profile, Research) on Tuesday reported a quarterly profit, helped by a gain on a sale, higher silver production, lower costs and sharply higher silver and gold prices.

    SolarWorld AG erhöht Gewinnprognose

    01. August 2006, 13:43

(01.08.2006/ac/a/t)
