Lakota Resources Inc. - Lakota announces Drilling on Ikungu
    22.10.2004
Toronto, October 22, 2004. Lakota Resources Inc. has been informed by Shanta Mining that diamond drilling commenced on its 100-per-cent-owned Ikungu property, Tanzania. Two holes of a 1,500-metre program have been completed.

Toronto, October 22, 2004. Lakota Resources Inc. has been informed by Shanta Mining that diamond drilling commenced on its 100-per-cent-owned Ikungu property, Tanzania. Two holes of a 1,500-metre program have been completed. Drilling is targeting a two-kilometre-strike-length extension of the Forrest Reef mine auriferous zone. Previous operators reported significant gold values in widely spaced drill holes and in surface trenches that targeted this prospective horizon. The current program is designed to infill previously untested intervals along this zone.

The Forrest Reef mine operated from 1933 to 1942 and reports indicate that 47,000 tonnes at a grade of 15.5 grams per tonne (g/t) gold were mined. The gold is hosted in sheared chemical sediments and quartz veins occurring within mafic volcanics. Shanta has the right to earn a 75-per-cent interest in the Ikungu licence upon completion of a feasibility study.

A reverse circulation (RC) drilling program will commence on the Tembo project upon arrival of a drill in late October or early November. Gold Fields is financing this program (see Oct. 7, 2004, news release in Stockwatch) and Lakota is the operator.

In the Tulawaka area, Lakota personnel are soil sampling prospecting licences optioned to Miniere du Nord by Lakota. Drill targets are being defined.

In an unrelated matter, John L. Tindale, secretary treasurer was granted 75,000 options at an exercise price of 79 cents at a board meeting held in Toronto on Oct. 20, 2004.
