Ich habe das Gefuehl das der virus mit Absicht in Afrika geplanzt wurde.
Ich lebe in Kapstadt und hoere oft das ca.30% der schwarzen bereits HIV haben und 25% Aids. In ca. 10 Jahren ist die Katastrophe komplett.
Man empfehlt den Kranken anstatt der teueren Medikamente besser Knoblauch mit Zitrone und Olivenoel zu nehmen weil der Staat eh kein Geld dafuer zur verfuegung stellen wird oder kann.Ich glaube die lassen sie mit Absicht sterben, Hilfarbeiter sind nicht mehr gefragt im modernen RSA.

Die meisten wundern sich warum die Immobilien in der Kapstadt weiter steigen. In der Innenstadt werden ueber 2400 Wohnungen gebaut, Altbauten abgerissen, und jeder fragt sich fuer wen. Die hauptsaechlich weissen Aussenbezirke wachsen wie verrueckt und die naechste Frage taucht auf wo die ueberhaupt arbeiten. Jobs gibt es fast keine, wenn welche da sind bleiben sie erstmal fuer Schwarzer reserviert.Es ist bekannt dass man nur gutes Geld in Johannesburg verdienen kann und in Kapstadt dann spaeter ausgeben. Fuer den Tourismus ist es nun zu teuer geworden, ein Urlaub in der Karibik ist weitaus guenstiger von Deutschland. Kann mir nicht vorstellen das die Immobilien in Euro noch teurer werden und der Hoehepunkt sollte nun erreicht sein.

Unter 20 Euro pro Person gibt es fast keine Restaurants mehr fuer Hauptessen und einer Flasche Wein, die Lebenshaltungskosten sind hier in 20 Jahren verzehnfacht.
Es ìst hier verdammt teuer geworden, in Thailand z.B. zahle ich die haelfte im Vergleich.

Mein Verdacht ist das Suedafrika ein Zufluchtsort wird wenn die Krisen wo anders entstehen in den naechsten 10 Jahren und viele Auslaender spekulieren und kaufen jetzt schon ihren ""sicheren"" Wohnplatz, wenn die meisten Schwarze verschwunden sind und z.B, Europa ein Disastergebiet wird.

So wie in Amerika nehmen die Leute Darlehen auf mit 10% Zinsen und hoffen das sie nicht weiter steigen sondern fallen.Sie verschulden sich weiter bis ins Uferlose.Viele spekulieren fuer die Fussball WM in 2010.

Wenn ich mir die Restaurants anschaue oder die Strassen glaubt man eher es ist eine Rezession hier. Die meisten Selbstaendigen jammern das business schlecht ist und jeder fragt sich warum und fuer wen hier gebaut wird. Die Lebenshaltungskosten sind fast schon die selben wie in D und mit 3000 Rand Durchschnittsgehalt kommt man nicht mehr weit hier. Was ich hier miterlebe ist das Gegenteil von starken Rand und Immobilienpreise, keiner kann es verstehen, nur mehr vermuten so wie ich. Ich kenne den Freimaurer plan nicht, weiss nur das die Anglosachsen den Retter spielen zum Schluss und dann abraeumen.

Die 12.000 neuen Arbeitslosen von Harmony stehen nun da mit nichts und ihre 4-6 Angehoerigen haben nun kein Essen.
Viele werden nun zu kriminellen weil sonst kein essen am Tisch ist.

ja, kanns mir vorstelllen,

ich war auch schon in SA.....einmal war es echt bedrohlich, um 11.00 Uhr nachts an ner ampel gewartet und plötzlich kam ne bande auf uns zu, wo zwei ne pistole in der hand hatten, ich drückte nur noch aufs gaspedal und hatte verdammtes glück das ich hier heil rauskam......am nächsten tag flog ich zurück......

Aber auf der einen Seite sind die Menschen schon zu verstehen, die stehen in einer ausweglosen Situation......

Ich glaube auch, dass SA wenn es so kontinuierlich vorgeht, sich hier noch einiges anbahnen wird, hier kann es wirklich noch zu einem GAU kommen und zwar in sämtlichen bereichen !!

Sorry, aber da kann Dr. Rath auch nicht viel helfen die brutale Realitaet ist so wie beschrieben. That's Africa, ein Fass ohne Boden wo Korruption herrscht.
Die Katastrophe kann und wird man nicht aufhalten koennen.
Fuer einige ist diese Situation profitabel, leider ist es so.

Die schwarzen koennen ansich nur die Hand aufhalten, das ist das Problem das noch dazu kommt, wie reine Verbraucher werden die wie mit Smarties auch mit den Tabletten umgehen.

Von Kondom halten die wenigsten etwas und in den Nachbarstaaten liegen sie bereits auf der Strasse beim sterben und es kuemmert sich kein Schwein in diesen Staaten.

Wenn die weissen draussen sind hauen sie sich meistens selber den Schaedel ein mit Diktatur die Demokratie heisst speziell wenn sie die Ratschlaege der Drahtzieher befolgen.

Selten ein Nachteil ohne Vorteil sagt man..

Hier lachen oder laecheln wenige, wo anders hat man mehr Spass als hier habe ich festgestellt in meinen Reisen.

Setze deinen Fuss in den Atlantik und dir friern die Haxen ab.
Mache mal eine Protea auf und schau was da fuer ein Ungeziefer rauskommt, dann siehst du die erste Taeuschung und Illusion von Kapstadt. You can't have it all !

NUM wants 20% wage increases

Johannesburg - The National Union of Mineworkers tabled its latest set of wage demands with the Chamber of Mines' gold and coal members on Friday, said chamber representative Frans Barker on Monday.
The chamber is representing AngloGold Ashanti, Gold Fields and Harmony Gold and the South Deep joint venture, which is a 50:50 joint venture between Western Areas and Canadian gold miner Placer Dome.

In the coal sector, the chamber is representing AngloCoal, BHP Billiton's Ingwe Coal, Eyesizwe, Xstrata, Spring Lake, Kuyasa and Kangra, Barker said.

The NUM had presented less demands than in the past, he added, which was "encouraging", but the chamber was "less encouraged" by the demand for a 20% wage increase.

Barker would not be drawn on what the chamber would be offering NUM members.

The union is also looking for a splitting of retirement benefits and risk benefits, like life assurance, said Barker.

On the retirement contribution, Barker said the union was looking for employers to increase their contribution to 13.95% to 15% of each employee's salary.

On the issue of live-out allowances, Barker said the NUM was seeking an increase to R1 500 a month from R700 a month at the chamber's gold mines.

The union was also seeking the implementation of outstanding issues discussed at previous negotiations.

These included job grading and health care.

Trade unions Solidarity and the United Association of South Africa or UASA still have to table their demands, said Barker.

Depending on how the negotiations go, it could be a one-year or two-year wage agreement, he added.

NUM spokesperson Moferefere Lekorotsoana wasn't available to comment.

SA 'mecca for human traffic'

Cape Town - Each day, nine people are reported as missing with the police, and many of them become the victims of human trafficking.
This came to the fore on Monday when the law commission reported that South Africa's involvement in human trafficking was extensive, but at present, no legislation existed to make this a criminal offence.

Proposed legislation can not be expected before June next year.

Louisa Stuurman, an investigator with the Law Commission looking into human trafficking, confirmed that the investigation had "already compiled substantial documentation".

The commission has classified its investigation as a priority because of the seriousness of the problem and evidence that South Africa was serving as a staging point for hordes of women and children.

Legislation must be airtight

These either ended up in the sex tradewere used as cheap labour or were moved on to Taiwan and other countries in the Far East.

Nevertheless, said Stuurman, it was the commission's duty to ensure that proposed legislation was absolutely correct and indisputable so that prosecutions did not fail because of technicalities.

In a reply to a question in parliament, Safety and Security Minister Charles Nqakula said 3 591 people had been reported missing in 2004, of whom 867 were children.

Since 2001, 13 067 people had been reported missing.

These figures were the highest since 2001 and Gauteng was the province with the highest number of people reported missing at 1 461.

According to Mike Waters, DA spokesperson for social development, the government ought to institute steps to ensure legislation was in place to prohibit trafficking in humans.

"Resources and training should also be made available to police to ensure missing people are traced quicker and to nip trafficking in the bud," he said.

"A quarter of the missing people are children. Lots of them will become the victims of human trafficking that has become a multimillion-rand trade.

"Children, especially, are used as sex slaves, drug traders, in child pornography and as cheap labour."

"Gauteng and the Western Cape have the highest number of missing children and are the most-popular "selling points" for human trafficking and abuse.

About 30% conviction rate

More than 51% of the missing children disappeared in Gauteng while the Western Cape's figure stood at 28.27%, said Waters.

Of all court cases involving kidnapping, about 30% led to convictions.

According to Fatima Chohan-Kota, chairperson of the portfolio committee on justice, no crime has been specified for human trafficking.

"In the bill on sexual transgressions, provision has been made for certain aspects of human trafficking, but it is not comprehensive.

"Common law, however, provides for crimes such as kidnapping," said Chohan-Kota.

In his reply, Ngakula said: "A person arrested for human trafficking will be detained in accordance with common law for crimes such as kidnapping and child stealing."

Robber dies in Spur shoot-out

Cape Town - A member of Gordon's Bay police shot a robber dead after three armed men burst into the Sunset Bay Spur on Sunday night and robbed the cashiers, little realising five cops were eating there.
In what has been described as a heroic deed the lives of many customers were saved by the five officers.

Reports state that the children in the restaurant's play area were taken to a storeroom. Customers were warned to lie flat on the floor.

Superintendent Billy Jones, a police spokesperson, said the robbery happened about 21:30.

South African Rand Fundamentals

South Africa falls into the our first category of nations that adjust interest rates in the light of internal factors, without regard to the impact on foreign exchange rates.

Production fell to 73.8 tonnes during the first three months of 2005 from 84.6 tonnes in the same period last year, mainly as a strong Rand made some shafts uneconomical. This was a decline of 12.8% year-on-year, the Chamber of Mines said this week. If this decline were to continue South Africa’s gold production would drop below 300 tonnes for the year. This is a far higher figure than expected and clearly shows that gold production for the year will be below previous estimates.

Bearing in mind that the mines need a minimum of R88,012 / Kg just to cover total production costs, the domestic gold price in the first quarter [which fell 7.7% year-on-year] of R82,206 per kg left most mines facing a very bleak future in South Africa. What should they get in their hands within South Africa? Well, add a profit margin commensurate with investing in South Africa and you can see why South African mines would like to see the Rand at with a gold price of $415 the Rand must fall and stay at R8.50.

The South African Rand has fallen in the last few weeks from R5.70 to R6.70 which is welcome news for the mines. The Unions are doing their best to pressure government to get it down to R8.50, but it is unlikely that this will happen in the near term. The inflow from the Barclays purchase of ABSA bank for cash has not been reported as complete, but they have now acquired the necessary shareholding for them to go ahead. The market is braced for a strengthening of the Rand as this one-off inflow takes place. The reason given locally for the Rand’s strength is the U.S.$ strength, but this does not fit as the Rand is weakening in terms of the € as well. It does fit the picture of fund managers lowering their exposure on emerging countries currencies, as the currency turmoil between the € and the $ sets off. This exit of “Hot Money” from South Africa will not be reversed as we now expect a possible interest rates fall as inflation is contained effectively now.

The unrelated strengthening of the U.S.$, rising unemployment [as we can see the potential STILL for 12,000 jobs to be lost, in the mines alone] and in particular the complete desolation of the textile manufacturing industry [a permanent phenomena], alongside the eventual realisation, [but too late] that the Rand is destroying key elements of the local economy, including damaging Tourism, appear to have caused a change in the policy of the Reserve Bank. But will the 20% demands by the Unions get through or will they settle for far less? No doubt they will do well to get 3%!

We hope that the Rand does not recover for some considerable time, but weakens substantially still, so that the mines can recover. South Africa needs the Rand to stay weak for some months so that the average Rand gold price received by the mines benefits from the weak Rand. The South African mining companies are saved by the income stream from offshore mines they own. This too has risen in Rand terms by 20% during the recent fall in the Rand.

Last week the gold price per ounce was R2,723.58, today it is R2,872.93.

Corruption costs SA up to R150bn

Public sector corruption costs South Africa between R50-billion and R150- billion per year, an anti-corruption expert told the next leg of the Schabir Shaik case on Friday.

Hennie van Vuuren, from the Institute for Security Studies was called by the state to testify in aggravation of sentence for Schabir Shaik who was convicted on two counts of corruption and one of fraud on Thursday in connection with dealings relating to the government's arms deal and his relationship with Deputy President Jacob Zuma.

"Law is only as good as the willingness of the state to implement anti-corruption measures," Van Vuuren told the court which was still packed after Thursday's judgment.

Shaik, who appeared more relaxed and more talkative, was back in court, accompanied by his wife Zuleikha and his brother Mo, Chippy and Yunis. He is on R100 000 bail pending his sentencing.

As an example, Van Vuuren cited the Department of Social Welfare where 40 000 public servants received grants to which they were not entitled.

Only two percent report corruption

Van Vuuren said that out of 4000 South Africans surveyed only two percent reported corruption. The others did not believe that "whistle blowing" would be dealt with, if at all, by the state.

"That reflected a lack of faith in state institutions," said Van Vuuren.

In 2004, Social Development Minister Zola Skweyiya revealed that social grants scams cost the state R2-billion a year and as much as R10-billion may have been lost to corrupt practises in the first 10 years of democracy, he said.

Van Vuuren said the sectors most open to corruption were public service, the construction industry, followed by the arms and defence industry. The impact of low salaries was not necessarily a factor they looked at while conducting their research.

Corruption thrives on silence

Corruption thrived on the silence of the people involved in the act and therefore it was difficult to estimate the extent thereof. However, a conservative calculation showed that roughly 10 percent of all transactions per country were corrupt.

According to the African Union, corruption costs the continent at least $150-billion in "squandered wealth".

Van Vuuren said the World Bank argued that bribes in excess of one trillion US dollars were paid annually.

"Corruption, the abuse of entrusted power for private benefit, is one of the biggest developmental challenges facing the world today," he said.

"It is the poor woman and man who are too often the ultimate victim of corrupt activity perpetrated by members of the business and political elite, in a quest for conspicuous consumption — euphemistically known as 'living beyond ones means'".

Nur ein Geruecht, ich habe gehoert dass die Randstaerke der letzten Monaten mit Absicht gedreht wurde.
Barclays hat wahrscheinlich zu viel bezahlt und aergert sich wie jetzt schon wie der Wechselkurs gefallen ist. Es war der groesste Auslandsdeal fuer RSA an den ich mich erinnern kann. Barclay's Wiedereinstieg in den Banksektor war ein teurer Spass.

Warum war der Rand so stark ???

1. Der Deal ABSA/Barclays ist Rechtsgueltig, das Geld ist aber noch nicht bezahlt, der Preis steht fest und das ja der Shareholder ist gesichert .

2. Der Goldminensektor, der sehr guenstig war und Harmony/GFI der Ausloeser war.

Nachdem der Deal Harmony in die Hose ging und der Absa Deal so gut wie abgeschlossen ist verlangen die Gewerkschaften nun einen Randkurs von 8.50 R/$ damit die Arbeitslosigkeit nicht groesser wird.
Irgend jemand hat dicken Reibach dabei gemacht, ich leider nicht.

Diese Woche ist noch keine weitere Zinssenkung geplant aber die kommt bestimmt noch.

Ich glaube nicht das man z.B Goldfields fuer 10 Dollar kaufen kann und sehe nun eine bessere Zeit fuer die Minen und deren Kurse.

Wenn das so kommt wie Du vermutest (und wir ja alle seit geraumer Zeit hoffen)....Rand runter.....und evtl. Gold rauf, werden alle SA Minen einen mächtigen Hupfer nach oben machen....je mehr Aktivitäten im Rand-Raum um so heftiger wird der Sprung werden. Ich hoffe, dass Du Recht behältst. Habe zwar nur noch Harmony....aber die immer wieder nachgekauft. Bin mittlerweile sogar 5% im Plus damit.
Nebenbei habe ich auch noch ne ordentlich Portion Aquarius Platinum...da habe ich einen super Einstig erwischt mit 3 EURO....Die springen mit....da Aktivitäten grösstenteils in SA.

Kein guter Ausblick für den Rand

Der südafrikanische Rand wird seinen Abwärtstrend gegenüber dem US-Dollar fortsetzen, wenn es nach der Meinung einheimischer Analysten geht. Diese machen die weiter steigenden US-Zinsen für den Rückzug der Investoren aus südafrikanischen Anleihen verantwortlich. Die südafrikanische Standard Bank schätzt den Mittelkurs für USD/ZAR für 2005 mittlerweile auf 6,4500, nachdem sie diesen zu Beginn des Jahres noch bei 6,2700 gesehen hatte. Die südafrikanische Notenbank hingegen gab zuletzt bekannt, dass sie die Inflation des Landes bis zum Jahresende 2006 innerhalb der Zielbandbreite von 3,00% bis 6,00% erwartet. Dies würde gegen weitere Zinsanhebungen am Kap sprechen. USD/ZAR notiert heute etwas stärker und steht gegen 21:50 Uhr CET bei 6,6263. (vz/FXdirekt)

Johannesburg - Arguments that gold miners deserved a wage increase because prospects for the gold mining industry were "looking rosy" were unfounded, Harmony Gold said on Friday.
"No. Certainly not in the case of Harmony. We're still not making money on a large proportion of our business," Harmony Gold spokesperson Brenton Saunders said.

Trade union Solidarity and the National Union of Mineworkers want a 12% increase.

The Chamber of Mines was offering between 4.5 and 5%.

In a memorandum to employers, Solidarity argued that prospects for the gold mining industry for the year ahead were "looking rosy".

The gold price was on an upward curve and international economic instability meant that investors were seeking stability in gold.

In addition, the rand was weakening, which was positive news for the industry, Solidarity's spokesperson Reint Dykema said on Thursday.

Saunders said: "The Chamber of Mines is on record as saying that after capital expenditure more than 70% of the industry is still not making money, so their argument is quite badly founded."

Efforts to reach a settlement with unions were still continuing, he added.

About 80 000 gold miners would begin striking at midnight on Monday after unions received an "overwhelming mandate" from their members.

It would be the first gold miners' strike since 1987.

Western Areas spokesperson Brian Gibson said the company would do its best to deal with the strike's impact on its South Deep mine.

Gibson said: "We just remain hopeful that a settlement will be reached soon, based on an agreement that is fair to both parties."

While the mine still had another 60 years of life, the company could do without the strike.

"But we've got a long, long time to make it up."

Chamber of Mines chief negotiator Frans Barker said the "previous worse occasion" for miners to go on strike was during the gold crisis of 1987/8, but this was while the industry was still making a profit.

Barker said: "We've suffered a loss of about R4000 a kilogram in the last quarters. This is really the first time that we are in this situation."

He said one of the chamber's attempts to give workers a share in profits was the gold bonus scheme.

Under the scheme, miners would get an additional one percent on their wages for every R5 000 the gold price went over the R90 000 per kilogram price.

While no formal negotiations with the unions had been set down, there could still be informal discussions between the parties, Barker said.

Goldfields and AngloGold Ashanti could not be reached for comment.

"But we've got a long, long time to make it up."

Sicher,die streiken doch ueberall und bei Amplats muessen immer noch die Royalties an einem Stamm bezahlt werden wie du weisst.
Wie gesagt ich hatte schon oefters Amplats und Impala und habe nie dabei verloren, mit micky mouse gewinnen immer wieder verkauft.
Sitzte noch auf Range, GFI und Harmony, im ganzen nur mehr 6% in RSA investiert, aus Patriotischen Gruenden.

Bei Gleichstand ist aber der Patriotismus vorbei,ich investiere auch sonst nichts mehr hier und wuerde mich freuen einen geilen Auslaender meine Immobilien anzudrehen der an das schwarze Wunder und an die Fussballweltmeisterschaft 2010 glaubt.

Wenn Madiba ( Mandela) stirbt dann ist der Papst tot und dann ist die Moral ganz im Eimer und die Anarchie kann leicht ausbrechen.
Die vorigen Gewerkschaftfuehrer haben Gedaechnissschwund was sie versprochen haben und fuellen sich die Taschen,die neuen Anfuehrer wollen die Politiker wieder weg haben und machen dann das selbe.Die gefaehrlichen Nigerianer stroemen ins Land als ob wir nicht genug arme Schwarze haben in den Blechhuetten. 1.5 millionen sind in der Stadt, und warten aufs Kommando go um sich die Haeser und Autos zu schnappen, so siehts hier aus. Ihr werdet alle schoen verarscht von den Medien in Deutschland. Die Gewerkschaften und Streiks haben das Land lahm gelegt, nicht so viel die Sanktionen, die stehen nun bereit und machen bald das selbe wie damals. Irgenwie kann ich sie verstehen, nach 15 Jahern immer noch kein Haus und Job vom ANC und alles ist so teuer geworden und die Jobs sind weniger.

Schade ums schoene Land , Afrika muss wieder neu besiedelt werden nachdem die Schwarzen alles kaputt gemacht haben und sich nach Auszug der Weissen gegenseitig die Ruebe eingeschlagen haben sowie Aids den Rest gibt. So in 15 Jahren sind wir soweit so wie es aussieht. Hoert sich rassistisch an, glaubt mir es ist aber die nackte Wahrheit , es funktioniert einfach nicht Rassen und Kulturen zu mischen.

Was passiert denn mit all den Spenden fuer Afrika ??

Das kann keiner sagen, keiner weiss wohin es geht,und wo es angewandt wird.

Wahrscheinlich geht es gleich in die Schweiz

Beispiel Niger, Heuschreckenplage und Hungersnot.
Die Welt reagiert erst dann wenn die Leute wie die Fliegen sterben, das Saatgut wurde aufgegessen, man macht Kinder neben den sterbenden Kindern, die Wueste kommt immer naeher, und wenn bewaldet wird dann wird gelichzeitig abgeholzt und Feuer damit gemacht.

Dann kommt das Essen aus Europa, man isst und macht weiter Kinder die Hunger haben, ein Jahr spaeter das selbe Spiel, noch mehr Tote.

Die Politiker fahren dicke Mercedes und machen Urlaub in der Schweiz.

Kuruption ueberall, die reichen Neger sind noch groessere Rassisten und Egoisten gegenueber ihren eigenen Leuten.

Denen kann man noch ein paar hundert Jahre Erziehung und Ausbildung geben bis sie es kapieren, aber so lange habe ich nicht mehr Zeit.
