The Kazakh Kazakhmys copper corporation has bought the Mansfelder Kupfer and Messing (MKM) plant producing copper and copper products in Germany for one euro from the Belgian plant Lamitref Industries NV.
"We have bought the whole plant for one euro," the chairman of the board of Kazakhmys, Ruslan Yun, told journalists at a news briefing in Almaty on 30 September. Also he noted that the plant had been bankrupt and the corporation cleared all the debts of the plant to the tune of 60m euro.
