Thistle Mining Inc. CEO leaving 'on mutually agreed terms'

TORONTO, Dec 23, 2004 (The Canadian Press via COMTEX) --
Thistle Mining Inc., which is going through bankruptcy-court restructuring, said Thursday it has lost its CEO.
William McLucas is leaving as chief executive, president and director "on mutually agreed terms," Toronto-based Thistle said in a terse news release.
On Tuesday, stockholders started bailing out on Thistle Mining after the company announced plans to cancel existing shares in its restructuring.
Thistle said it intends to restructure its debt and equity in an agreement involving Thistle, Meridian Capital and Meridian affiliate Thistle Holdings. Thistle will owe Meridian $20 million US after restructuring.
The five per cent of new equity to be issued to unsecured creditors and existing shareholders "will be allocated between them in a manner to be determined by Meridian Capital," Thistle said earlier this week.
The percentage of shares to be received by the existing shareholders will depend on the amount of claims by Thistle's affected unsecured creditors.
On the Toronto market Thursday, Thistle shares (TSX:THT) were trading at half a cent, unchanged.
