Nickel Australia Limited is a publicly-listed Australian mineral exploration company (Australian Stock Exchange code: NKL) based in Perth, Western Australia. The company was formed in late 2003 to explore for nickel sulphide deposits, and in 2005 the company elected to diversify its interests by commencing exploration for other minerals in Mexico.
Nickel Australia's objective is to generate strong capital growth and dividend streams by discovering and developing significant new mineral deposits, leveraging off its strong financial position and technical expertise. To this end, the company implemented a strategy to reduce risk and increase the likelihood of exploration success by having commodity, geological and geographical diversity.
The company chose Mexico because the country has low sovereign risk, security of mineral rights, an attractive commercial environment, a well-established mining culture, and a government committed to natural resource development. Our projects are located in the Sonora Porphyry Copper Belt in northern Mexico, and are prospective for gold, silver, copper, lead, zinc and molybdenum. This is one of the most prospective and yet under-explored mineral provinces in the world, which hosts numerous world-class copper, gold and silver mines.
Nickel Australia is also continuing to undertake exploration in Australia, holding six projects prospective for nickel, copper, platinum, palladium and gold. Five of these projects are in Western Australia and one in Victoria.

Projects
Monarch
The Monarch platinum-palladium-nickel-copper prospect is located only five kilometres northwest of the town of Norseman. Intensive exploration by Nickel Australia has discovered a large zone of platinum and palladium, and nickel and copper sulphide mineralisation within a layered mafic-ultramafic intrusion known as the Mission Sill. Monarch is considered to have excellent potential to host significant primary PGM mineralisation and exploration is proceeding.
Davyhurst
The Davyhurst nickel project is considered to be a significant greenfields nickel sulphide exploration project, with exploration by Nickel Australia identifying strong nickel and other geochemical anomalism within the Riverina ultramafic.
Bounty
The Bounty project comprises five granted mining leases situated over the northern end of the Forrestania greenstone belt. This mining district hosts numerous nickel sulphide deposits and old nickel mines. Nickel Australia's exploration in the first year has successfully identified nickel sulphide mineralisation and several attractive geochemical and geophysical targets which will be tested during 2006.
Mexico
Nickel Australia has entered into a joint venture over 14 exploration projects located in Mexico with a Canadian-Australian company called Geoinformatics Exploration Inc. These projects are very prospective for epithermal gold-silver deposits and porphyry copper-gold-molybdenum deposits. NKL has established a Mexican subsidiary company and an office in Mexico to conduct exploration on these projects.

Nickel Australia wurde von Croesus (steckt aktuell seit Anfang des Jahres in einem Insolvenzverfahren) ausgekoppelt, es sollte Bewegung in diese Explorations-Gesellschaft mit Ex-Croesus-Projekten kommen können, wenn die Zukunft der Croesus dieser Tage klarer wird.
Nichtsdestotrotz machen sie entgegen der für sie schwierigen Zeit auch noch gute Meldungen - ... der Drache steigt im Gegenwind

Habe einige Shares der Firma seit ein paar Wochen (Spekulation auf Anstieg nach Beendigung der Unsicherheit hinsichtlich Croesus) & heute noch ein paar bei 0.069 Euro nachgelegt in Frankfurt, da die Veränderungen hier in Deutschland gar keiner recht bemerkt hat, - siehe die neue Bohr-Nachricht unten ... .
In Australien waren sie dafür heute morgen recht heftig in Bewegung, unter vergleichsweise recht hohem Volumen.
Nur zum IPO & bei der Insolvenz der Croesus war das tagesvolumen höher. ...

NICKEL AUSTRALIA MAKES NEW COPPERNICKEL COPPER
DISCOVERY IN MEXICO
SUMMARY
Nickel Australia Limited (ASX: NKL) is pleased to announce that it has discovered high grade primary copper-silver mineralisation in first pass Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling at the Potreritos project in Mexico.
Highlights of the discovery include:
• High grade mineralisation, ranging up to 8.5% Cu and 57g/t Ag over 1.52 metres.
• Shallow depth, with significant Cu and Ag values returned from 7.62 metres down hole.
• Gold mineralisation also intersected, ranging up to 2.17g/t Au over 1.52 metres.
Better intercepts include:
POT-RC-01 4.57m @ 4.92% Cu & 38g/t Ag from 21.34m
POT-RC-01 1.52m @ 1.63% Cu & 26g/t Ag from 111.25m (...)
Wenn jetzt noch die Sache mit Croesus demnächst geklärt ist, sind sie möglicherweise für einen Flug bis über o.20 Au$ gut gerüstet. ...
