Volcanic-associated massive sulphide (VMS) deposits occur throughout the world and throughout the geological time column in virtually every tectonic domain that has submarine volcanic rocks as an important constituent. VMS deposits are major sources of Cu and Zn and contain significant quantities of Au, Ag, Pb, Se, Cd, Bi, Sn as well as minor amounts of other metals.

VMS deposits are classified with respect to host rock type and on the basis of ore composition. The host rock classification is a useful field system as it can be relates to the geological environment which can be determined from geologic maps. The major groups are:

1.felsic volcanic hosted - 50% of deposits - eg. Buttle Lake (Westmin - Vancouver Island, B.C.), Noranda

2.mafic volcinic hosted - 30% of deposits - eg. Anyox

3.mixed volcanic/sedimentary association - 20% of deposits - eg. Windy Craggy, Tatshenshini Area, B.C.

Compositionally, VMS deposits form two broad groups:

1.Cu-Zn - eg. Noranda, Windy Craggy, Britannia (Britannia Beach, B.C.)

2.Zn-Pb-Cu - eg. Buttle Lake

Economically significant quantities of Au and Ag may occur in all the above lithological andcompositional groups. There is only a poor correlation between the ore composition types and host rock type.

Another massive sulphide category - Pb, Zn deposits -forms in a sedimentary environment

VMS deposits tend to occur in districts. Up to two dozen deposits, might be clustered in an area of a few tens, of square kilometres. Known VMS districts are good hunting grounds for new discoveries.

Deposits within a specific district tend to have similar metal ratios and a fairly narrow range in composition. In any given district, deposits will tend to range in size from less than one million tonnes to several tens of millions of tonnes, with most deposits at the small end of the range and only a few large deposits.

Na ja, so 10% ist sie im Plus.

Also nicht unbedingt um VMS.V, aber die haben halt auch solche VMS.
Die sind teils so metalldurchzogen, dass man sich die Mill sparen kann und sie gleich in den smelter kommen.

Wird noch heiß in der letzten halben Stunde.

Keine Meldung, nur Hysterie.
Andererseits sind diese VMS Formen schon ein Hammer!! (siehe google link!)

das war kein Bluff, das unentschieden bezog sich auf rauf oder runter.
Im übrigen bin ich noch immer unentschieden, was aber nicht hindert, eine position zu kaufen.
Im übrigen: wenn ich einen thread eröffne, kaufe ich auch. das war immer so.
Ich glaub sogar, dass ich noch in allen drin bin.

Was ich hier bei VMS noch nicht weiß......, wie lange und so.

UC ist in dem Zusammenhang ein Betriebsunfall.
Noront ist das Maß der Dinge.
In Kanada heißt es zur zeit ja nur noch Noront style oder VMS style, wenn man von Gesteinsformen spricht.

der harpo hat den Begriff eingeführt.
Einerseits heisst es: nervös auf dem hinterteil (Arsch=oarsch in Mundart) herumrutschen.
Andererseits: wetzen tut man die Sense mit dem Wetzstein, es ist aber auch ein Synonym für "Geschlechtsverkehr betreiben".
Die beiden Begriffe zusammenfügen, das überlass ich dir....

KXL ist aber auch interessant, das könnte was ganz Großes sein.
Wir haben ja damals gekauft wegen der anderen property.....
Und auch bald wieder verkauft.

Es spricht eigentlich mehr dafür, dass es bei VMS weitergeht.
Müss man die Meldung sehen......

Statt zu wetzen könnte man auch die Nachbarn von VMS unter die Lupe nehmen.

Irgendwie landschaftsabhängig.

Weil VMS (= Vulkanisches Massivsulfid) ist ein Vorkommen, bei der sich das Metall auf einen kleinen Raum konzentriert, was den Abbau nicht unerheblich erleichtert.
Bergbauriesen wie Rio Tinto, Teck Cominco oder Inco gründen ihren Erfolg auf VMS-Vorkommen.

Das Management von VMS ist ja noch bei einem anderen Explorer aktiv.
Was ja nie schlecht ist, wenn man übernommen wird.

RD 07-02 was drilled to a total depth of 270 metres. This mineral discovery is within an 800 metre long southwest-trending VTEM anomaly. The VTEM anomaly is on the Company's Mineral Exploration License (MEL) #268A and the Company's optioned HudBay Minerals property (Toronto:HBM.TO - News). VMS Ventures is planning for the arrival of a drill rig this month to commence a second phase of drilling on its discovery zone and other weather accessible targets on the property. Drill permitting for a larger winter program to investigate targets inaccessible prior to freeze-up will follow.
