Very Interesting video... it confirms what first came to mind when Noront announced the agreement to purchase some of the Murgor/FWR claim adjacement to Windfall..
What is that? That due to the nature of the Windfall claim, and the lengths of the proposed ramp, Noront needs a large preperation/launch area to get all of the areas worth looking at at Windfall.
Not to say that those two holes on MUG/FWR land in the video are not worth looking at, but removing 1200 ft of 3mX3m rock requires a good area for storage. Unless they plan on using the Hogan Heroes method of removing drill materal which would take a long time.
Regardless, the video shows that they these guys have serious plans about getting a true reserve estimate at Windfall. Some have said that the ramp will cost close to 10M to complete. I am not sure of too many "juniors" willing to spend that kind money without a belief that something "really, really good" is lurking below.
Which is why I believe that only those in need of a new crack pipe have been selling shares at these recent prices. And what an expensive crack pipe that must be.
To put this into perspective, everybody knows somebody who owns a mining company in Canada. In Quebec alone (as of November 1, 2006)there were more than 175,000 active claims in Québec, which is a 10-year high.
"In addition, chances are that exploration and deposit appraisal expenditures in Québec for 2006 will top the $200-million mark for the third year in a row. In fact, preliminary data on company spending intentions indicates that $234 million will have been invested in Québec. It should be noted that about sixty mining companies raised more than $1 million in financing for their work:
48 companies had a budget between $1 million and $5 million (including 42 junior companies);
6 companies had a budget between $5 million and $10 million (including 3 junior companies);
5 companies had a budget over $10 million (including 3 junior companies); "
For those wondering, these stats are from the following site
http://www.mrn.gouv.qc.ca/engl…c-mines/2007-02/highs.asp
Point is that Noront is among the top 5 gold exploration companies in terms of expenditures in Quebec. This number includes the huge CDN gold companies as well at work there. Six months ago the total market value of Noront was less than 10 Million.
Other point is that Noront hit 1792.9/grams (52.30 ounces) per tonne of gold over 4.8 metres (15.7 feet) in Hole 06-100. I noticed that they have the pics of the drill core up on the site - visible gold is one thing, but solid visible gold is another
