  • IsoEnergy Reports Final Chemical Assays From 2021 Drilling at Hurricane Zone


    Saskatoon, SK, February 3, 2022 – IsoEnergy Ltd. Hurricane is a high-grade uranium zone located on the Company’s 100% owned Larocque East property (the “Property”) in the Eastern Athabasca Basin of Saskatchewan.

    Southern Expansion
    LE21-107 (Section 4485E)
    LE21-107 targeted the centre of a 26m gap between previously reported drill holes LE20-71 (2.4% U3O8 over 2.0m) and LE21-82 (4.5m averaging 0.9% U3O8 including 1.0m 1.4% U3O8). LE21-107 intersected 6.5m averaging 20.4% U3O8 from 325.5 to 332.0m, including 3.5m averaging 34.5% U3O8 from 327.5 to 331.0m. Figures 2 and 3 show the location of the drill hole in plan and section view, respectively.
    LE21-87A (Section 4460E)
    LE21-87A intersected 7.5m of uranium mineralization from 331.0 to 338.5m averaging 4.5% U3O8 including 2.0m averaging 9.2% U3O8 from 336.0m to 338.0m and including 1.0m averaging 8.1% U3O8 from 334.0m to 335.0m. LE21-87A expanded the Hurricane zone 17m south of drill hole LE21-78C1 (12.0m averaging 5.2% U3O8 including 2.0m averaging 27.6% U3O8), increasing width of the mineralized footprint to at least 86m on section 4460E. Figures 2 and 4 show the location of the drill hole in plan and section view, respectively.
    LE21-103 (Section 4485E)
    Drill hole LE21-103 targeted the unconformity 31m south of previously reported drill hole LE21-82. LE21-103 intersected 4.0m of uranium mineralization from 334.5m to 338.5m averaging 0.9% U3O8 which includes 0.5m averaging 4.7% U3O8 from 337.5 to 338.0m. LE21-103 expanded the Hurricane zone 31m to the south and the mineralized footprint is now at least 125m wide on section 4485E. Figures 2 and 3 show the drill hole in plan and section view, respectively.
    LE21-91 (Section 4510E)
    Drill hole LE21-91 was completed to test for easterly extensions of mineralization intersected by earlier 2021 drill holes and targeted the unconformity 28m northeast of LE21-82 and 47m east of LE21-78C1. LE21-91 intersected 5.0m averaging 0.7% U3O8 from 336.0m to 341.0m. Figures 2 and 5 show the drill hole location in plan and section view, respectively.
    LE21-105 (Section 4535E)
    Drill hole LE21-105 was completed to test for easterly extensions of mineralization intersected by LE21-91. LE21-105 reached the unconformity 21m east of LE21-91 at a depth of 341.5m, intersecting 0.5m averaging 0.1% U3O8 from 339.5 to 340.0m. Figure 2 shows the drill hole in plan view.
    Continued Growth Potential
    LE21-101 (Section 4785E)
    Drill hole LE21-101 tested the prospective graphitic structural corridor bounded by the J- and L-Faults in an area that has seen limited drilling. The drill hole intersected 4.5m of uranium mineralization from 324.5 to 329.0m averaging 0.6% U3O8 including 0.5m averaging 3.1% U3O8 from 327.5 to 328.0m. Figures 2 and 6 show the drill hole in plan and section view, respectively.
    Defining the Zone
    LE21-85 (Section 4460E)
    Drill hole LE21-85 was drilled to follow up mineralization intersected by previously reported drill holes LE20-57 (11.7% U3O8 over 10.0m) and LE20-38 (2.0% U3O8 over 7.5m). The drill hole intersected an upper zone of uranium averaging 0.2% U3O8 over 1.0m from 321.5m to 322.5m above a lower zone averaging 0.2% U3O8 over 0.5m 327.0m to 327.5m. Figures 2 and 4 show the location of the drill hole in plan and section view, respectively.
    LE21-93 (Section 4435E)
    LE21-93 was drilled to expand mineralization to the north on section 4410E and targeted the unconformity 29m north of previously reported drill hole LE20-42 (0.4% U3O8 over 3.0m). The drill hole intersected 0.1% U3O8 over 0.5m beginning at 316.0m, 13m above the unconformity. The zone of significant mineralization is interpreted to be closed off to the north on section 4435E. Figure 2 shows the location of drill hole LE21-93 in plan view.
    The Larocque East Property and the Hurricane Zone
    The 100% owned Larocque East property consists of 33 mineral claims totaling 16,780ha. Two of the project’s claims distal to the Hurricane zone are subject to a 2% Net Smelter Returns Royalty of which 1% may be bought back for $1 million at IsoEnergy’s discretion. Larocque East is immediately adjacent to the north end of IsoEnergy’s Geiger property and is 35km northwest of Orano Canada’s McClean Lake uranium mine and mill.
    Along with other target areas, the Larocque East Property covers a 15-kilometre-long northeast extension of the Larocque Lake conductor system; a trend of graphitic metasedimentary basement rocks that is associated with significant uranium mineralization at the Hurricane zone, and in several occurrences on Cameco Corp. and Orano Canada Inc.’s neighbouring property to the southwest of Larocque East. The Hurricane zone was discovered in July 2018 and was followed up with 29 drill holes in 2019, 48 drill holes in 2020, and 16 drill holes in 2021. Dimensions are currently 375m along-strike, up to 125m wide, and up to 12m thick. The zone is open for expansion along-strike to the east and to the north and south on some sections. Mineralization is polymetallic and commonly straddles the sub-Athabasca unconformity 320m below surface. The best intersection to date is 38.8% U3O8 over 7.5m in drill hole LE20-76. Drilling at Cameco Corp.’s Larocque Lake zone on the neighbouring property to the southwest has returned historical intersections of up to 29.9% U3O8 over 7.0m in drill hole Q22-040. Like the nearby Geiger property, Larocque East is located adjacent to the Wollaston-Mudjatik transition zone - a major crustal suture related to most of the uranium deposits in the eastern Athabasca Basin. Importantly, the sandstone cover on the Property is thin, ranging between 140m and 450m in previous drilling.

    Initiating Coverage with a BUY and A$0.39/sh Target



    We are initiating coverage of Peninsula Energy Limited (Peninsula, ASX: PEN) with a BUY rating and A$0.39 target price. With Peninsula restarting its 100%-owned Lance Uranium project (Lance) in Wyoming with low-pH (acid) based in-situ recovery technology (ISR), we believe that Peninsula will be the next US-based producer with relatively low operating risk given that the mine is a past producer and the detailed test work that Peninsula has carried out to help ensure the switch from alkaline to acid chemistry is successful.
    Lance is a past producing mine with more than 400,000 pounds of uranium extracted between FY2016 and FY2019. It appears that due to a combination of low uranium prices coupled with operational challenges, the company chose to suspended production activities in May 2018 and the mine was idled in July 2019 to allow the company to focus on a transition to acid-based ISR chemistry.
    Peninsula has carried out extensive testing for 16 months on the use of acidic solution pumped into the wellfields to extract uranium. The low-pH test program, completed in December 2021, has provided the information that the company requires to update its 2018 feasibility study and move toward a production decision.
    As Lance is a previously producing mine that has also been the subject of a very thorough study to ensure its transition to low-pH chemistry is successful, we believe its risk profile is much lower than a greenfield development project; therefore, we do not think the SPECULATIVE qualifier is required for our BUY recommendation
    DETAILS: Likely the Next US-Based Uranium Producer
    With the completion of the low-pH test work, Peninsula expects to have a revised feasibility in the first half of 2022 and an investment decision in the second half of 2022. We are forecasting a start of production in H2/2023. Given that there is a significant amount of existing infrastructure (wellfields, pump houses, processing plant, etc.), we estimate the initial capital to begin production will be $5.3 million for the processing plant and $15 million in accelerated wellfield development, to support higher production volumes, spent in FY2023-FY2024. We believe this will be sufficient to develop Stage 1 of the three-stage plan, Stage 1 is forecast to have peak production of 1.15 million pounds in FY2026.
    We believe that Peninsula will follow the initial ramp-up plan as laid out in the 2018 feasibility study with Stages 2 and 3 will commencing in FY2027 and FY2030, respectively. Production is anticipated to peak at 2.16 million pounds and 3 million pounds for Stage 2 and 3, respectively.

    Tiris Uranium Resource Enhancement Programme

    Resource Upgrade Programme
    The Resource Upgrade Programme aims to expand the Measured / Indicated Resource base within the Tiris East project area.
    A drilling programme will focus on portions of the current Inferred Resource within the catchment area of the proposed plant site at Tiris East, to reduce drillhole spacing sufficiently to upgrade the classification of the Resource to Measured/Indicated status. Aura will cover the Tiris West resources in a separate future program. Figure 1 shows the substantial areas of Inferred Resource in which closer spaced drilling will be conducted to enable upgrading of the resource classification to a higher category. The previous resource drilling programme in 2017 focused on converting sufficient Inferred Resource to Measured and Indicated status to support the Tiris Definitive Feasibility Study, with the areas omitted from the 2017 program reasonably anticipated to be upgraded following similar drilling in the new programme.
    Aura is currently liaising with drilling contractors aiming to complete the programme by mid-year 2022.

    Aura Energy fordert Schweden auf, das Uranverbot aufzuheben


    Aura Energy hat Schweden eine schriftliche Notifizierung gemäß dem Vertrag über die Energiecharta vorgelegt, teilte das Unternehmen am Freitag mit.


    Das an der AIM notierte Unternehmen teilte mit, dass Uran in Schweden seit dem 1. August 2018 verboten ist, und erklärte, dass es eine Entschädigung für den finanziellen Verlust aufgrund dieser Entscheidung fordert.


    Aura Energy habe Schweden auf der Grundlage des Vertrages schriftlich von seiner Forderung in Kenntnis gesetzt.


    Der Vertrag über die Energiecharta ist ein multilateraler Rechtsrahmen zur Förderung der grenzüberschreitenden Zusammenarbeit im Energiesektor, der von 54 Unterzeichnern unterzeichnet wurde, wobei davon ausgegangen wird, dass die Unterzeichner die grundlegenden Rechtsprinzipien einhalten.


    Daher sieht Aura Energy den Vertrag als gleiches Spielfeld mit Regeln, die alle teilnehmenden Regierungen einhalten müssen, um die Risiken im Zusammenhang mit energiebezogenen Investitionen und Handel zu mindern.

    Denison Announces Intersection of 24.9% eU3O8 over 4.2 metres extending beyond high-grade domain at Phoenix Zone A



    TORONTO, Feb. 16, 2022 /PRNewswire/ - Denison Mines Corp. ("Denison" or the "Company") (TSX: DML) (NYSE American: DNN) is pleased to announce multiple intersections of high-grade uranium mineralization beyond the previously defined extents of the high-grade domain in the Phase 1 area of the Zone A portion of the Phoenix uranium deposit ("Phoenix") at the Company's effective 95%-owned Wheeler River Uranium Project ("Wheeler River" or the "Project") in northern Saskatchewan.     Three drill holes were completed during the fall of 2021 to follow up the discovery of high-grade uranium mineralization (22.0% eU3O8 over 8.6 metres) in drill hole GWR-045, which was located outside of the previously defined extent of the high-grade domain of Phoenix Zone A (see Denison's news release dated July 29, 2021). All three follow-up holes returned intervals of high-grade uranium mineralization, including massive uraninite mineralization in GWR-049.

    • 24.9% eU3O8 over 4.2 metres in GWR-049: This drill hole was expected to intersect only a narrow interval of high-grade uranium mineralization along the northwestern boundary of the Phoenix Zone A high-grade resource domain, approximately 17 metres to the northeast of GWR-045. The drill hole intersected a thick interval of high-grade unconformity-associated uranium mineralization that, coupled with the results of GWR-045, is expected to expand the volume of the high-grade domain to the northwest outside of the extents of the same in the current resource model (see Figures 1 and 3).


    • 3.6% eU3O8 over 3.5 metres in WR-787: This drill hole was designed to test the extents of the high-grade mineralization discovered in GWR-049, by targeting the unconformity approximately 6 metres north of the mineralization in GWR-049 (see Figures 1 and 3). Mineralization in WR-787 was encountered at the unconformity, and included a mineralized interval grading 15.2% eU3O8 over 0.7 metres.


    • 1.2% eU3O8 over 2.1 metres in WR-784: This drill hole was designed to test the extents of high-grade mineralization discovered by drill hole GWR-045, by targeting the unconformity approximately 6 metres northwest of the mineralized intersection in GWR-045 (see Figures 1 and 2). The drill hole intersected perched uranium mineralization grading 1.2% eU3O8 over 2.1 metres, lying approximately 6.5 metres above the unconformity.

    Andy Yackulic, P. Geo., Denison's Director, Exploration, commented, "The grade and thickness of mineralization in holes GWR-045 and GWR-049 significantly exceeded what was predicted by the Phoenix block model. We believe these results will support an expansion of the volume of the high-grade mineralized domain in Phase 1 area of Zone A. Follow-up drilling encountered additional uranium mineralization that is also expected to be additive to future updates to the resource model for Phoenix Zone A. Of particular interest is the perched mineralization discovered in WR-784, which presents a style of mineralization that has not been previously encountered at Phoenix. As this intersection is located outside the extents of previous drilling at Phoenix, the potential exists to identify additional perched mineralization along the northwest margin of the Deposit."
